What do you do while you debate on createblog?

First, don't move this mods, cause its a topic about debating practices in a debating forum.

I usually browse other forums, watch tv/listen to music, chat with some people on AIM, and always keep a google window open.

I hope not, cause moving this to lounge would miss the whole point of it. People in the lounge would be like "wtf, i dont debate".

Yes, but this forum is for debates...this is practically the same topic as one in the lounge about what you do while you're on createblog...

If you don't start debating about ways on what you do during a debate on createblog, then...we'll have to move this. wink.gif

we can debate why this topic deserves to remain in the debate forum.

this topic shouldnt be moved cause it would just end up moving to the bottom of the "lounge" forum unanswered by many, cause people browsing the lounge usually arn't debating. And just cause the forum is called debate doesn't mean everything in it has to be a debate...things relating to a debate should be able to stay. this relates to practices while debating, basically as close to relating to a debate as possible. Any disagreements?

and it's different, cause when you're debatting you should be in an "opener" state of mind. so whatever you're doing while you debate is vital to how well you come off.

*edit :: i'm such a "debate" mongor i.e. "stubborn arguer".

Shall we debate where this topic belongs?
This belongs in debate because it is about the debate. Do you suggest that the topic pinned should be in lounge because it isn't a debate?

I usually research to see whether or not what's being said by the opposing side is true. AND I update my xanga, listen to music, read fanfics, watch anime, check emails.

I would have no clue where this should belong, so I'll keep my mouth shut on this one. But it sounds like it's going to be a debate to see where it'll belong. Haha.

Although some of you have stated rational reasons for it to be moved in the lounge, I believe that it'll be more appropriate in the debate forum. Not every single thread in the debate forum doesn't necessary need to have people debating in it (Although some people have been debating in this thread already rolleyes.gif ). Also, like Wildgriffin pointed out (I think it was him), moving this in the lounge forum would get replies like "I don't debate ohmy.gif " so I think it'd be better off here. Yeah. wink.gif

Right on, but keep the answers coming people. I'm sure there are alot more people out there not sharing their "debating practices". No more debating about where this topic belongs stubborn.gif

Yea this started out as not being a debate topic but turned into one but even if it hadn't there are a lot of topics that have more than one place. The hottest girls and hottest guys thread could be considered debates as well. Its people with opposite or shared thoughts argueing on who they think is better looking. Have to take what the topic is about not just how the topic is replied to into consideration. Otherwise by what other people are saying then a lot of topics would need to be moved here cause yes they are about something else but they are also debating two sides of an issue.

in other words....topics are started by people and just like the people who start the topic you cant just uniform everything to one thing. People are individuals and so are the things they type :)

Well, this topic should stay in the debate forum because it's about debating. Simple logic. '_'

I usually browse around xanga while I'm in a debate because it takes a while for other people to reply and I don't really have that kind of patience. xP
