Big noses, taboo for girls? Options

Well being ethnically lebanese I was born with a big nose.
With things like 'bratz' (which don't even HAVE noses) and other things, I think it's teaching young girls that they aren't pretty unless they get a nose job.
What are ya'lls views on this?

society isn't out to destroy the self esteems of girls with "big" noses. those bratz dolls have gigantic heads but i doubt it's not glamourize people with big heads or huge eyes. besides, they're not that good looking and are kind of scary...

who cares, be happy with what you're with. not everyone has a great nose and there are so many complications with plastic surgery. at least you're just about 18 and can barely fill out a bra

About the Bratz doll thing.. Well I mean, it's just in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? Anyway, I'd have to say that okay it is promoting that girls should "look a certain way" in order to fit in. I wouldn't exactly direct it ONLY to noses, rather, I'd have it directed towards the whole figure, as well. Dolls in general, as well as models, actresses, singers, etc. often appear to have the perfect body (to girls). To be thin, tall, having a certain chest size, clear skin, perfect tan, perfect hair, perfect facial aspects, etc. are often what many people think about, not just girls. I'd have to say that the dolls pose a definitely potential of influencing girls to believe this, but keep in mind that girls who collect these dolls might collect them because they are cute, it's fun to collect them, or just like to play with them...

I think you're making a big deal out of nothing. Especially since your family's from a different country, you're going to look a little different. Nobody's perfect, just accept yourself for who you are and don't let people pick on you for stupid things like looks.

Hmm... I have a "jewish nose" as they like to call it. I'm not exactly fond of it, but I am always told that I am pretty, so obviously no one seems to care about my nose. Besides, with the other people I know that have big noses, it doesn't bother me at all, so why should I be bothered with myself?

I like to poke fun at it though, hehe. It's better to have a humorous outlook on it rather than a negative one.

Girl you dont have to worry about brats dolls. They are ugly, big head and huge feet?? Oh no. Personally to me, girls with big noses can be kinda ugly. But some girls know how to work it. A friend I have when she first came to my class the first thing everyone noticed was the size of her nose. We all called her snoz. Which was wrong, but funny as hell. But I becamefriends with her and it turned out she was a cool person. But of course later on in life we found out that she pierced that snoz and started smoking and gave head jobs and I really dont know where Im going with this. But youre probably not one of those girls so you have nothing to worry about.

I have my mothers nose. Most of her family in Thailand have a flat nose but she's the only one with a small nose, my father has a big nose though. I'm glad I have her nose .. not my fathers.

im jewish, and jews are famous for having big bird-like noses. my mom's sort of ashamed of her "jew nose", and i always tell her that it makes her look jewish and ethnic and really who she is.
i think any features that emphasize your heritage are nice...

that's pretty awesome that you're from another country. To tell you the truth sometimes a big nose looks nice...look at Barbara Streisand (the mum in meet the fockers). She's gorgeous and she still has a big nose.

i think it's really sad that people find the need to get cosmetic surgeries in order to be pleased with yourself.

i am middle eastern (full jordanian) also and parents have huge noses but it's weird because i have mini jew nose. people used to think i was jewish when they didn't know me well enough. lol

I love my nose, but, it's probably because everybody always tells me it's perfect.

I think that if people really have problems with their nose, they should do something to make themselves feel better about it - whatever that may be, it's their decision.

Although, I definitely do think that there is pressure to be perfect, whether it's with your nose or something else on your body.
