I wanted to know how to make a muli-colored pattern and go about doing so. I think it's like the streaming line pattern. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Overlay a gradient. Just put it on a new layer and set the mode to "color", "soft light", or "overlay". You can also play around with the other modes, but thoses usually look best.
