I've been in love with oldies music, mostly from the 50's to the late 80's, and I've been searching for some new songs. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks guys, my music list is getting a little blah.

Ahh...I love the Beatles...

I've got plenty of QUEEN, The Beatles, no Madonna, haven't tried her yet...Pink Floyd, Oingo Boingo, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, ...I know there is more...Billy Idol, Alice Cooper, and I think that's about it.

But I'll try out some Madonna...my mom has a Madonna CD around here somewhere...

Im an oldies junkie as well as hiphop and every other type of music under the sun. Rosie and the Originals, and The Delfonics are two of my favorites, but theyre really popular in oldies so youve probably heard of them already.

I listen to oldies all the time, but I never seem to get the artists name. o.o

Oh! Paradise By The Dashboard Lights, or something like that by Meatloaf. Haha, it's a good song.

You seriously haven't heard Madonna? huh.gif

mmm, I recommend Billy Joel if you're not familair with him, because he's delightful. Electric Light Orchestra's "Mr. Blue Sky" is great...

oh, I don't know, you left an awfully large range of things.

^ ELO... be still my beating heart. I love Jeff Lynn.

Yeah, Madonna is a big 80's icon.

Have you heard of The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, etc..? There's Erasure and Pet Shop Boys too. laugh.gif

Throw in some Ike and Tina Turner, The Jackson 5, Earth Wind and Fire, Al Green -classic stuff there.

I could literally go on for days.

Gosh darn it. You beat me to it. I love Electric Light Orchestra.
Al Green is classic, too. And The Temptations, I love them. And The Supremes. All of those are soul-ish, though, and the things you provided were classic rock.

i haven't really heard too much 80's music but i love the songs that play in "the wedding singer" with adam sandler and drew barrymore. these are songs from the movie, i'm not sure if they're all from the 80's. here's a link to the soundtrack though.

The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Video Killed The Radio Star
Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me
Billy Idol - White Wedding
David Bowie - China Girl
Flying Lizards - Money That's What I Want
^i think that's a Beatles cover

That's a cover too. The singers of the original escapes me at the moment. (Edit: It's by the Buggles.)

And no Oldies music recommendations would be complete with out some classic soul. I'm talking Bill Withers, Al Green, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, the list goes on.

And if you wanna go back a little further than those the ones I listed above, the Supremes, the Flamingoes, the Temptations, the Dells, the Four Tops, etc. are great.
