I think she got confused with the name, because the codes I posted are from the xanga example that she gave.

Yeah, but that one uses an image as the repeating background down the page. It's easier just to define a div to go around.
Don't put a border on your images, by-the-by.

y doesnt the border go around the banner also?

Make sure the div goes before the image, because if it's after then you're telling the div to box everything EXCEPT the image.
