I almost thought this was a colorization when you posted the greyscale version. It looks really cool, like fabric in an art supply store. I like it.

I didn't even really know it was abstract until i clicked it to get a big pic..
it looks like fabric or something.
How exactly did you do this in 3d max?
Its unique though...

i did some photoshop tweaking
