I couldn't find a topic like this... if there was, kindly lead me in the right direction. I'd really like to know.

I found out today that Gov. Pataki has proposed cutting $190 million from TAP grants. I'm not sure how much that adds up to per student, but... along with the impending tuition hike... I'm rather worried. My TAP covers well over half my tution.

I can't say I'm well-informed about this issue. I thought the budget was increased for NY colleges and universities. If they have more allocated resources... why are the students paying more? Why why why did they increase it in the first place if they couldn't afford it?

That's rough, but it is hard to put an opinion out there becauuse you dont know where other funds are being allocated. It's not like he is taking your tuition money and buying pretty things for his house... There are so many worthy causes and needs in New York, you really have to look at his complete budget before blasting his decision.

It's not so much that he raised the budget... it's that he raised the budget with no means of following up on it. So we (the students) have to make up the difference ($500 tution hike... minus who knows how much financial aid)

I think I'm missing something, because this really doesn't make any sense to me.
