ya well I JUST started going to school this year (I homeschooled before) and I looove it, and I made a bunch of friends, and I love the school blah blah blah. And then this stupid idiot has to come in and make a school RIGHT next ot my house stubborn.gif so now my mom's all like "OMG I DON'T HAVE TO DRIVE YOU ANYMORE THIS'LL BE GREAT" mad.gif ya, really. wonderful. pinch.gif

So bassically now I have to switch school's, and I'm soo mad about it, I even cried in front of my mom but she's like "don't worry you'll make new friends". I don't care wether I make new friends or not, I'll never see the ones I jsut made...it'll be annyoing, like all the friends I made in grade 2, I contact them every so often but it's a bother but I don't want to lose them so ya...it'll be like that. sept I'll have waaay more friends that I never see cry.gif cry.gif I DON'T WANT TO SWITCH SCHOOLS _dry.gif

Have you ever had to swith schools?

Share.

Wow, you cried for that?

I've never been to the same school for over 2 years, we move a lot. But I make friends pretty quickly. Next year, college will be the place I'll stay the longest in one spot, yah!

It doesn't matter where you go, or how social you are, you'll always meet someone and make new friends. It may seem hard at first, but it just happens.

I have switched schools before, but it is only between the school year, not in the middle of the school year.

a normal person should have went to 3 schools in total excluding college. i have been to...7 counting the one i'm at now.

i started kindergarten at one place (1), then we moved and i went to en elementary school for 1st grade-4th grade (2). then there was overcrowding and i had to move to another school just for 5th grade (3).

then i went to middle school and since i was in a basically all white school (4) and some kids are cruel, people enjoyed to harass me daily. then the next year, my family luckily moved to new york city.

i finished middle school (5) then i went to high school (6). things seemed to go well until the middle of freshman year when a popular guy liked me and all the girls who liked him started to hate me. then the whole school kind of hated me so i was shunned. it was really stupid because i already had a boyfriend yet no one cared because this two faced girl who i thought was my friend started to tell people that i liked the popular guy anyway, despite the fact that i have a boyfriend.

then i became a truant because i was being a little rebel. then my school tried to kick me out, but once the school official who wanted to kick me out found out that i wasn't an idiot and i passed the important regents and my grades were great, he wanted me to stay. but i grew to hate that school so i didn't want my good grades to up their credibility of being a good school and i already wanted out so i went to the school i am currently enrolled in (7).

but anyway, i'm not the type who has to be around people so i don't really care if i make friends or not. it might be due to my past experiences but whatever. if you like me and want to be my friend, great. if you don't, i can really care less.

my situation seems much worse than yours and i know people who have had much, much worse than me. so be lucky that you're only switching schools once and people don't bully you.

I switch schools b4. But not in the middle of the year.

Yes, it did suck. I tried everything so i wouldnt switch schools. I even cried and made up excuses. lol. I went 2 a different school 4 7th-8th. Becuz i didnt have transportation 4 my old school.

But now, i dont reget anything. I dont keep in touch with my friends, but i dont care, they changed a lot seen the last time i seen them. And some of them have also moved 2 a different school.
Now that i see it, im happy that i changed schools. I have met many new friends that love me. So ya.

Mostly I only switched schools when I was still starting school, i.e. first grade, mostly my mom wanted to see which school best suited me, and her concerns. shortly after we found the best school which I liked although I was only there for 2years it was still worth it becuase i made many friends, when I was in fourth grade, i again had to switch schools and go from NY to FL, it was horrid, I didnt like the transition. but after that I was happy again, becuase i met new people which became friends, now my parents after 7 years are coontemplating on if we should move which would send me to a new school based on what job my mom gets for the company that she works for now

I went to four different elementary school. I've had okay experiences. It's not always awesome to switch schools, but it's not like it's terrible either. New people, new places.

Hmm, I went to three different elementary schools. One for kindergarten and first grade, then another school for the rest of first grade, then a third school for second to fifth grade.

I'm changing schools in the beginning of February. It's going to be a whole new experience for me. I'm coming from a public into a private/charter. Things are much more strict there, but it'll be okay. I made the decision to change schools, the thing is, I can't learn in the environment I am in now, I have too many friends and nobodies there to stop me from talking so much, all the talking is restricting me from learning what I need to learn. My school hours change from 8AM-3PM, but now it's 8AM-5PM. It's longer school hours and I get loads of homework.
There are uniforms and I'm not really used to that. I have to dress in khakis and white collar shirts. Though I'm not sure I can buy different types of white collar shirts, like ones with designs, so far I only have regular/plain ones.
On Friday's I can go back to my previous, public school and do my homework there so there isn't much of a "missing-my-friends" problem for me. _smile.gif

I went to the same school from 1st grade to graduation. I liked it for the most part but it was kind of annoying because I went to a small county school and everybody knows your business. Now I'm in my first year of college (junior college still in the same town). I'm going to be leaving here in about a year for God knows where. That scares me because I have a really good group of friends and I'm really going to miss them a lot. We're all about to be going to different schools. So, yeah, switching schools stinks, but look on the bright side maybe there will be some really good new opportunities waiting in a new place.

Yea I switched quite a few schools throughout my life... probably still going to, in the future. ermm.gif

The most painful time was that I had to leave all my closest friends, and at first, in the new school (which is the school I'm studying at right now), I knew nobody and felt isolated. I was pretty depressed for about more than half a year. Now, when I think about it, it really wasn't such a big deal and I definitely could have dealt with it much better.

Yeah, when I was in elem. school, I was never in one school for a full year, k-5. I started homeschooling a few weeks into 5th & I'm in 8th now. I'm going back to public school next year for high school.. ermm.gif

Yeah, I always hated switching schools. I'd make a bunch of friends, then we'd move. I make new friends, we'd move again. More friends + an awesome teacher..wait, no, time to move again! Agh.

Actually, I've never switched schools, besides the moving up between elementary, middle and high, which really doesn't count since I stayed with the same kids. However, I used to almost wish I had changed, because being with the same people forever is really irritating. It did turn out or the best that I didn't change, but the point is that changing schools isn't always bad or anything.

I've switched schools twice.
I went to a private school for two years then in 2nd grade I went to a public school and loved it.
Then I moved and started 5th grade in a new school. Looking back I would say that 5th grade was my worst year there. I made friends, but I was involved in those little clique groups even in 5th grade. One day the girls in the group wrote me a note saying they were kicking me out of their group and I really didn't have any other friends. cry.gif

But now I'm older, more independant and I can handle myself better. cool.gif

Switching schools is hard at first but you do make good friends with time.

i've never switched schools. But my parents want me too cause hte highschool i got into isnt in the "best" location.

I don't want to switch cause i feel like imma have to start over and try to be someone im not for others to accept me. I like it where i am cause i can be myself. But who knows what it's like in other schools.

umm at te moment ive been to.. 8 and im in 10th grade _dry.gif
first time was okay i lived in a semi small town and i already knew alot of people at my new school (summer of 3rd going into 4th)
next time middle of the year here to cali in 5th grade gahh i hated it everything was sooo differnt i love cali but i grew up thereand in the middle of the year too and family drama doesnt exactly help
next time was going from elementry school to jr high no biggy
i lived out of the distrct all of 7th grade and my sis didnt want to say at the same school so we changed to live in our distrect that sucked cause by then i went from outgoing to very shy and that year anti social
end of the year family drama was getting to much at that house soo i moved into another house while things cooled down soo wasnt there long enough to say anything about the school
then i went to high school and i loved it i miss it sooo mucheveryone i really care about is there.. bff exs crushes favorite teacher ever best chior ever
like december ran away from family drama at that house moved in here mom is a b*tch and signed me out of the school that day almost didnt let me go to school cause my friends are supposidly 'bad influnces' but i dont think that if you have strait a's dont drink dont smoke and all that junk i dont think thats considered a bad influnce pinch.gif i like this school but not really perfer old one but i know im not going here next year so i kinda dont really socialize over here

i went to three different elementary / primary schools in three seperate cities. (new york, new york. london, england. toledo, ohio). Then secondary school / high school in london for three years (years seven, eight, and nine), my tenth year in toledo, eleventh year at an academy in london and the first term of twelfth year in an american based school in london, and now back in toledo for my last term of twelfth year and then on to university.

i am at the same high school now that i was in for my tenth year, but it's still crazy. some people i remember, most i don't. but spending summers in toledo i knew some other kids too...

i agree. changing schools is difficult... really, no matter how many times you do it.
