who watched the High School Musical on Disney Channel ? they had some pretty catchy songs, some of my friends were singing/humming that " breaking free " song


and Gabriella [Vanessa Anne Hudgens] is heeeeeellllllllaaaaaaa good lookin .

I didn't watch more than about 10 minutes total, but I heard mos of because my sisters have watched twice already, and I found it horrid. The song in which that girl was singing alone on the stairs was just far too corny to tolerate.

Ahhh. I loveeeeed it. Its because im such a musical junkie, and it brought back memories of the musical i was in, and i LOVED IT. Zac Efron (Troy) and his friend Chad on the show, the black guy with the fro` was fiiiiiiinnnneee. Me and my friends were singing it at lunch.

Ive seen it 4 times. Since i have 2 disney channels it comes on twice everyday its shown. (:

I watched most of it (didn't have time to watch the full thing) but I thought it was pretty good. It was different obviously from the other disney movies and I really liked the songs. They had a good looking cast! The lead guy and his best friend were...yeah =] Well, I thought the movie was cute.

DUH, it's gonna be corny. It's from Disney~! You really can't expect real thought provoking things from Disney.

So anyway, I liked it. I'm a sucker for musicals. I mean, yeah. There were scenes that shouldn't have been in it just because they were so darn cheesy. (Like the time when Gabriella sings to the poster of Troy) My whole school is singing random selections from the movie in the hallways & stuff. (Especially me. Even though I can't sing that doesn't stop me~!)

Yea, it was really corny, which is why i usually dont watch the disney channel anymore. But i decided to watch this because i've seen the commercial a couple of times and the main character is really hot and the girl is really really pretty too. I watched it and i loved it! At least the songs and stuff... i tried not to think of the corny stuff so much.

Watched it tonight. Man that guy who play Troy (Zac Efron) was a CUTIE.

^Well of course he'd have to lip sing in the movie. They all did. When they film a musical usually they record the soundtrack first, and then when they are filming they lipsing to it while they are dancing and all.
It's still his voice though, just pre-recorded. I mean for movie musicals it has to be done.
I think there were a good handful of singers. Not the best. But still good enough to be in a disney musical lol.

^OH NO! lol..i wasn't talking about that. I know they lip sing while filming the movie..What I meant was that my friends told me that he wasn't actually SINGING.  Like, that wasn't his actualy singing voice.  It was either somebody sang his part for him, and he just lipped it while filming, or they EXTREMELY edited his voice ....but it could be a rumor.

I guess they're OKAY singers for a disney musical.....but I still think the only person that could really sing in there is Ashley Tisdale. She should have gotten the lead part...

This movie was pretty good, but there were a few parts that were corny, like when Gabriella was in the roof garden with Troy and also when she was signing by herself upstairs. The songs were very sweet, though, and I liked the pianist. It was unique for a Disney movie. I think they worked on the singing/dancing more than they did on the acting though. =/
