It looks incredibly over done. I also lose respect for movies and such that are advertised on AIM, it's a pretty dirty way to advertise.

i want to see it so i searched for it and read reviews. some people saw the original movie, which came out in the 70s. a lot of the people who saw the original got upset by the trailer for the remake. they said that the remake's trailer showed a part of the movie that was supposed to be a surprise, and they said that everything's going to be predictable now.

Okay, so it's one of those urban legends we've (well, at least I've) heard a million times. Personally, I think it stays better being a story rather than being made into a movie. Yeah, I agree, I think everything will be predictable, but I still will see it.

A stranger called me and left me a message. I can't understand him though he's mumbling. I don't think I'll call back.

Haha, this movie kinda looks like Phonebooth except different. hahah.

i want to see it, but only because a couple days before in my english class we were talking about urban ledgends & it weird because we each had to tell an urban legend we knew & i told the one about the babysitter&the guy. yeah so when i saw the preview i was like "im gonna go see it" but it looks like one of those movies that someone just decided to make just for the hell of it. =[

The main actress is from some Disney movie too. The all original ones...I think it was something like "Let it Rip" ...or Rip girls. nvm. It was the movie about her surfing and her mother was a surfer..yadayada.

That movie is lame. Waste of money. Seriously. Not scarey at all. Very dissapointing I only got scared at the end when she's in the hospital. The movie goes by real slow too. All the action is like within the last 15 minutes of the movie. Wack.

Yeah. I never saw the original. But I found an old trailer for it(Searched IMDB). Its visual quality is nothing like the new one but honestly, the first one looks a heck of a lot darker. This new one seems to polished. But thats how it is these days, looks and substance often gets left beind. I'm not big into the horror/thriller genre but I do want to see the original. It looks really great!

I do have to agree with people though. I cannot believe they showed how he was in the house. I mean that part in the new movie's trailer got my blood pumping a bit. Now I'm bummed though cause I can just imagine how amazing that would've been in the theaters instead. Oh well, there is still one secret which a lot of people don't know(as long as they don't research the films and ask their mom about it, she saw the original). I won't tell you and if you want to be surprised don't research it! But its a good little tidbit which I think is important enough that you could say the whole movie isn't ruined by the trailers.

Although I'm speaking about the television trailer. I haven't seen the theater version. They might give away more and ruin the movie more. Either way though I plan to see both.

Stick to the original 1979 When a Stranger Calls. And even then, f**k it. The original is a total rip-off of the horror classic Black Christmas. Skip the remake, and the original of When a Stranger Calls and go straight to the 1974 classic horror film Black Christmas.

It was pretty predictable, and it wasn't scary at all to me, but I didn't think it was terrible. The movie was really slow for like the first hour. Then the action started. So it wasn't that great, but I didn't hate it.

when a stranger calls is #1 at the box office. what the freaking hell is going on? I enjoyed it. Definitely. I thought it was a great movie. Of course, I haven't seen the original so I have nothing to compare to, but it was really good. The first half of the movie is basically this girl name Jill looking around the house because she's getting these strange phone calls and hears doors opening and is seeing the automatic light sensors in some rooms turn on. It's a very good movie with suspense though, it's not a movie that you can easily predict.
If you get queesy easily, I'd recommend that you don't see this movie. There are two dead bodies that show up in the most random of places, so there is no sign for those wanting to block their eyes.
Very good movie, I can't complain.

i saw it and it was not at all what i expected. shes getting scared by all these calls but in the end shes in a psych ward? so was she crazy throughout the whole movie or.. did she get crazy? i thought some scenes were pretty scary especially whenever she found another dead body. i really like camilla belle.. except her eyebrows are like HUGE haha.

overall pretty good movie 4 outta 5 stars :)

In my opinion, the movie was pretty bad.

You are about to read a huge spoiler
In the end you don't even know who the stranger is. I hate the ending; she's in a mental hospital for something that's not even her fault.

i totally agree! i mean i know its called 'when a stranger calls' but i thought shed at least recognize the uy or maybe youd know his name. and then the end when shes in the mental hospital it confused me. the whole prank calls and all the psycho ness was real right? she just ended up in a mental hosptial after the whole ordeal. she wasn't crazy the whole time was she? i dunno i just hoped the ending would be a litle more dramatic

i totally agree! i mean i know its called 'when a stranger calls' but i thought shed at least recognize the uy or maybe youd know his name. and then the end when shes in the mental hospital it confused me. the whole prank calls and all the psycho ness was real right? she just ended up in a mental hosptial after the whole ordeal. she wasn't crazy the whole time was she? i dunno i just hoped the ending would be a litle more dramatic

omg! i thought the same exact thing!!
