Ah yes, finally, the playoffs! The wildcard weekend is here. And in my opinion, there's gonna be a very good game each day of the wildcard weekend. The Bucs-'Skins game should be a good one. And the Bengals-Steelers game should be too. This season was filled with dissappointments...atleast for me.

Dissappointments of the year:
(Ordered)
#1 - Eagles!!!!
#2 - Eagles!!!!
and...
#3 - Eagles!!!!

Suprises of the year:
#1 - Bears!!!!
#2 - Eagles!!!! (Having a horrible season)
#3 - Bucs

I do say this though, the Eagles may not comeback next year as Super Bowl contenders, but they WILL be a good playoff team.

Well, this is my Superbowl prediction:

Chi-Town Bears VS. Indy Colts
Defense Vs. Offense
Bears 24 Colts 21

This is how I predict the playoffs:

Saturday, Jan. 7 (WILDCARD WEEKEND)
Washington at Tampa Bay
Jacksonville at New England

Sunday, Jan. 8 (WILDCARD WEEKEND)
Carolina at N.Y. Giants
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

Saturday, Jan. 14 (DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS)
Washington at Seattle
New England at Denver

Sunday, Jan. 15 (DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS)
Carolina at Chicago
Pittsburgh at Indianapolis

Sunday, Jan. 22 (CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS)
Denver at Indianapolis
Chicago at Seattle

Sunday, Feb. 5 (SUPERBOWL XL)
Chicago vs. Indianapolis

Man, I think if Palmer wouldn't have gotten injured on that FIRST pass, that game would've been alot closer.

Whatever...the defense didn't come close to stopping the Steelers. The Bengals got handled. The Steelers were without Ben for 5 weeks and never whined. I thought there was more than one player on a team.

WTF happened to the DEFENSE?!?!? The offense was the one who stepped up in this game! Man, the Bears didn't go down easy though, I can see big things for Rex Grossman coming up. Congrats. to the Bears for playing good. And congrats. to the Steelers for beating the Colts. I'm now a believer. ANYTHING can happen in the playoffs. Anything.

Now I have to overcome this hang-over of the Eagles not making the playoffs, and the Bears loosing in the playoffs. It's gonna be a LONG off-season! _dry.gif

Haven't you realized by now, Peyton Manning will ALWAYS choke in the big games. And with his attitude, he doesn't even deserve a ring. "I'm trying to be a good teammate, but we had some problems with protection." YOU NEVER, EVER SELLOUT YOUR TEAMMATES! You're the QB, the LEADER... you're supposed to take responsibility no matter what.

GO STEELERS! And that's saying a lot for me to be rooting for the Steelers considering they took out Law last year and Harrison this year. But I REALLY don't like the Broncos, Panthers OR Seahawks so the only team left is the Steelers.

No, i haven't realized it because he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and that's a fact. and i think it's unfair for you to completely blame peyton for the colts' loss. yes, he IS the "leader" of the team, but it IS a TEAM and the other players are just as responsible for the loss as he was. he wasn't selling out his teammates persay, he was simply stating that he thought that there were protection problems. if i was in his situation and was getting steamrolled with questions about always choking under pressure and being responsible for their loss, i would say the same thing.

p.s. the broncos will beat the steelers =]

Oh, I'm not disputing you that he isn't, I completely agree with you that he is the best quarterback. In the regular season. But in the big games? He chokes.

It doesn't even matter that they were having protection problems, as a team leader, you don't hang out your teammates to dry IN FRONT OF THE MEDIA. He should have voiced his opinions to his teammates rather than the whole football audience. Every other QB in this league, respected at least, ALWAYS takes the responsibility for a lousy game, even if they don't deserve it.

And the thing is, he doesn't even take the blame when it IS his fault. He's always passing the blame to someone else. And yes, one guy doesn't make a team. But you don't say, "I'm TRYING to be a good teammate BUT..." WTF?! Then don't say anything at all.

You look at what Peyton Manning said after the game and then you look at what Tom Brady said: "We had a chance to win the game, and I did not get it done. It's going to be a long off-season because I failed my teammates. I am going to dedicate myself even more to winning next year for them - for us." See the difference?

The only Colt I felt bad for is Tony Dungy. After everything he'd been through, his only fault was letting Manning take control at the end of the game. Waving off the punting squad? I can't call it gutsy because Peyton Manning is anything but. However, I thought that it was the right call football-wise. But you don't show up your coach like that. That showed who runs that team, and it isn't Dungy. And ultimately, Peyton calling all of the shots cost them the game. His pride cost them the game. And until he gets over himself, the Colts will never win a championship.

But whatever, seeing the Peyton face at the end of the game... they should make a MasterCard commercial out of that.

Again, I don't disagree that he is the most talented QB in football. No question about it. But something is keeping him from winning, and that is his personality and his inability to handle pressure.

Damn, I really underestimated the Steelers. The Seahawks-Steelers SuperBowl should be a good one.

You just look for any reason to hate Peyton Manning don't you, PurchasedRebellion?

I hope the Steelers don't manhandle Seattle :-/.

Offense

SeattleThe teams are very even I think. The Seahawk's offensive line is amazing, with two perrenial pro-bowlers (Walter Jones, Steve Hutchinson). They have a pro-bowl Full-back (Mack Strong) blocking for the NFL MVP and Pro-bowler Shaun Alexander, who today proved why he is the MVP against the Broncos. Matt Hasslebeck has been ultra-efficient lately, and he has a great recieving corps.

PittsburghThe Steelers offense is less impressive to me, yet they produce. Ben Roethlisberger(crap, bad spelling) has been amazing so far and I expect him to stay amazing against the pourous Seattle defense. Pittsburgh's running backs are....good. Jerome Bettis is a big, big back. But he's old, and he's showing it. He's mainly used as a short-yardage/goal-line back, but he's playing in his home-town, so expect him to play with a little extra edge. Willie Parker is the exact opposite. He is very fast, and is used often in sweeps and such. However, the guy fumbles so often it's rediculous, and I expect him to on Sunday. The steeler's offensive line is good, thats all i have to say about that. Their receivers are excellent. They have an excellent possesion and blocking reciever in Hines Ward and a quick little bastard in Antwaan Randle El.

Defense

Seattle The Seahawks' led the league in sacks this season, and I expect that that'll carry over into this game. I don't think that Big Ben (thats what I'm calling him now, since I butchered his last name earlier) will play with over 100 pts QB rating, because the D will be pressuring him. The linebackers have a standout performer in Lofa Tatupu, a rookie from USC. He leads the team in tackles, and he is a good run-stopper as well as a good coverage man. The secondary makes a lot of plays, but they let a lot of plays happen as well. This defense really showed what it was capable of today against the Panthers, and if they can carry this victory over into the super bowl, I think the Hawks have a chance.

Edit later

He makes it easy.

Bill Simmons never fails to kill me:

QUOTE
The Peyton Manning Award for Worst Performance in a Playoff Game
With apologies to Tom Brady, who was uncharacteristically sloppy for two straight weeks and made the single-worst throw of his career (the pick to Champ Bailey), I still think Manning gets this award for his Tony Eason impersonation against the Steelers. More than everything else, quarterbacks need to come through in the clutch, carry themselves like the coolest guys on the field, inspire confidence in their teammates (no matter how bleak the situation), respect the coach's decisions and be quality teammates even in the face of adversity. Manning did none of these things on Sunday. And I'm not sure even A-Rod would have muttered the "I'm trying to be a good teammate" line. Some guys rise to the occasion in big games, some guys shrink from the occasion. He's one of the shrinkers. But if you're playing a 2-10 Lions team on Thanksgiving with three days to prepare, he's your guy.

I'm so glad the Steelers won. And I'm glad the Seahawks won.

Steelers win the Super Bowl. Because they will manhandle the Seahawks.

Well I think the seahawks have better defense than the steelers, but the steelers offense is just gettin stronger and stronger...but I'm predicting sean alexander is going to get 2 TD's, 175 yards...

The steelers have one of the best overall defenses in the league, by far the best road defense...

I really don't know who to go for. I don't like the AFC, but if there's ONE team I would have to like from the AFC, that would be the Steelers. The Steelers is the only team I respect from the AFC 'cuz I like their style of play. But then again, NFC is my conference. And the Seahawks are just as good as the Steelers. Im gonna have to say that the Seahawks are taking this one. But again, may the best team win. Either one deserves it.

Steelers 24 Seahawks 27

The Steelers have one of the best run defense so I highly doubt he'll gain that many yards.

The superbowl is gonna be weak, steelers all the way. Bear lost, colts lost, patriots lost. Those were the main attractions
