Let it all hang out here. We love our parents, but they annoy the shit out of us sometimes. This thread is just for venting. NOT AN ADVICE THREAD. If you want advice, post a topic in the forum.

Let's start with my dad. I love him very much. However, he's way too overprotective, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. My sister is eighteen, and she's never had a boyfriend. Ever. He always yells at me for things I haven't done, and he has no respect for my privacy. For example, when I'm on the computer, he always looks at my IMs and looks at the screennames. ("Who is that person? How old are they? Do they go to school with you?") He just doesn't get it. He doesn't get that I'm not six anymore. He doesn't understand that I need my space and privacy more often. I'm growing up. I wish he'd just realize that.

The only thing that keeps me from hating him is the fact that he's doing everything he's doing out of love for me.

Wow. What a perfect thread for what I'm currently feeling.

I am SICK of my parents. How dare they put the blame on me, how dare they say all I do is sit on my ass, how dare they say I can't attend their funerals, how dare they put me on a guilt trip, HOW DARE THEY. Yes, I love them but right now I certainly do not like them. This is going to sound bad but I got pleasure out of seeing my mom cry. WHY? Because they are always bitching at me and making me cry. It's not fair and they deserve some of the pain. This isn't about them. What I'm going through isn't about them, yet, they always think it's about them. They always pull the attention back to themselves, that they did something wrong. They don't understand. They don't get what I'm telling them. I say something and they interpret something totally different. Thank God I'm some what intelligent and I know that it all has to do with the limitations of language and with perception and what not, but still. SHEESH. They piss me off.

My moms delirious (sp?) and delusional. Basically, were poor. ( And the reason we still have a computer with internet is because my dads life consists of beer and tv. And we told him if the computer had to go when we were selling things to cut save money, that the tv had to go to. ) And it drives her crazy I guess. And I know she sees how me ang my brother struggle with not having anything knew and having to reuse clothes and share clothes and everything, but i swear shes pyscho. In her mind she makes up clothes that she bought me and argues with me. I have to walk to school in the harsh wind and rain, without anything to protect myself because we couldnt afford any clothes. That is, until i started hustling again to buy myself a jacket

I cant even, EXPLAIN how pathetic my mother is. Shes unfit to even be a mother. I dont even remember anything good out of my childhood from my family. All i remember is arguments,crying,my dad drunk, my dad beating up my mom, my dad leaving, my mom crying,my brother sitting in his room, ignoring it all and turning to drugs, then the anger HAS ALWAYS been taken out on me. ALWAYS. fslkbvalk akfhsalkvb IM SO JUST. ANGRY INSIDE.

The only memory i have of my mom, from when i was a child is her calling me names. Calling me, fat. Calling me a pig, calling stupid and lazy. Telling me i was a bitch, yelling at me, hitting me.

And my dad. He might as well have never been there. I had a father, but never a father figure. He sat on the couch, drunk, watching his TV. Both my parents have serious, serious, anger management problems that they both dont want to admit. And they are both so headstrong and stubborn and ignorant, and they dont want to admit to eachother that neither was wrong or right.

My dad tried kicking me to death.

My mom forced me into therapy.
And wonders why im so angry at her and my dad.

Im not even mad .. that we cant afford anything at the moment. Im not even mad that i have no clothes, and that I can never dress like everybody else with nice clothes. Im just SO pissed off that she acts like she gives me everything. She lies to herself, and convinces herself that she buys me new jeans, and new shirts, and new shoes every month.

Ive had two pairs of shoes, for the past two years. Hah, Shes so stupid.

My dad wonders why i hate him so. And im not even going to get into that.

My parents call me ungrateful. When i have SHIT to be grateful for, but a roof under my head, which half of the time they have kicked me out of.

I buy my own food, and i cook it. With money, i have earned on the streets.

Sometimes they get me frustrated. Whenever I like someone or am in a relationship, they manage to screw it all up for me. They scare all the guys away because, even though my dad is cool when it's just me or my friends, he becomes overprotective and angry around anybody that wants to get involved with me. I know they love me but I just wish they'd back the hell up and quit butting into my relationships. STOP asking so many questions. I'm just 16. At this point, not a lot of people are thinking about marriage, and when my dad asks all these questions about the future and the dreaded "What are your intentions?", they run away scared. Plus, my mother decided that it would be a good idea to put me on chaperoned dates... WITH MY LITTLE BROTHER. Hello? We're living in the 21st century now. I wear pants, women have the right to vote, and, I CAN GO ON DATES ALONE. Now everyone thinks I'm lame because I'm the girl with the wack job parents.

Copy and paste for me. I know my parents care about me and only want the best for me, but does it really matter that I don't have all an A+ in every class? Last year, I just got an A in math and my dad told me that it would have been better if I'd gotten an A+. He didn't speak to me for 2 weeks.

my dad is over protective, but i guess he's gotten better these few years. my mom on the other hand, budges in on everything. I need my privacy at times. learn to KNOCK please. she just comes in and sits down around me to check out what i'm doing on the computer.
Report cards, like how you guys have mentioned, we dont get fricken "good jobs". for some odd reason my parents are so negative about everything. it's always " you could of done better." or if you did good on a test or subject it's always, " how many people got higher marks? what did so and so get in the subject?"
i know they want the best for me, sometimes it's too much to handle.

Well I don't live with my parents, but my grandparents. I am always at home, but that doesnt' really matter. I basically dont' do anything but do homework, an go on the computer,and clean the house. She always have to say something negative to me. Shes says she teaching me for the real world. But the words that come out of her mouth really hurts. I know i am the oldest, I have to care for my brother and sister. I know it there faults, buts she always freakin blame everything on me. I tried to get good grades. But it not really enough for her. When I was in 3rd grade, she was yelling at me, and I started crying, she told me you better stop crying while i am yelling at you. From now, I never cry infront of her again. The words hurt, just a little bit of appreciation would make me happy. I know she hates my mother. She blames everything on my brother and sister. She not my real grandma, I consider her as one. My real grandma died in cambodia, so my grandpa married her. I just want her to say good job teeda. Yet, all i want is a little of consideration, instead of lectures. She accused me of having a boyfriends.. I felt hurt. I am only 14, and I still dont'w ant to get married Never. That all I want. My parents ignore the fact that I'm an all honors student, 1st chair clarinet and head section header for marching band, and I'm the top jazz pianist at my school. They say I'm lazy, I don't do anything, all I do is sit on the computer, read, or play piano. WTF? I love the computer, I plan on either being a computer programmer or a professional musician. That would explain my playing piano and the computer all the time. I read because I love to read. I still manage to get all my chores done, and my homework, and have a GPA above 4.0. I have a Vocal Arts proformance in two weeks (for school, and I'm singing Cowboy Take Me Away by Dixie Chicks) and I don't have any dress clothes that fit me anymore. So I'm like "I wanna go shopping this weekend to buy clothes for Vocal Arts night k?" and she's like "Errrrgggg, you already have enough clothes! what about ALL those skirts you have?" What. The. Blink. I have two skirts total, one which is black and is a dress skirt and would be veyr apropriate if I could fit it around my waist anymore and my yellow one with green stripes which is like a tenis skirt HELLO, it's not a dress skirt dummy. It's almost lounge wear for goodness sake. So I told her that and she's like "OH COME ON, YOU'RE YELLOW SKIRT IS JUST FINE!" and I'm like "no mom, it's not. youd o not know how wrong it is" and then I'm like "I need to dress shoes as well so we'll have to go shopping anyway" and she practically explodes she's like "just wear your character shoes!!!" . AHHHHHHHHH!!!! kill me now. That is sooo wrong! you wouldn't wear high heels to this thing, much less character shoes, that woudn't go with my song ar all! or jsut the whole concert in general! plus they are crappy looking to begin with! my parents are so overprotective. i'm not allowed to go out at all without parent supervision, unless its the 7 11 across the street (which i had to wait till my 13th birthday for, and its freakin 5 seconds away if i run), the mall, and the movies. even though i'm still young (turning 14 soon), i still deserve some things. and, aside from them not letting me go anywhere, they complain that all i do is stay home. my friends dont invite me to some places because they know my parents wouldn't let me go.

not only are they overprotective, but they don't trust any of my friends except like, one of them. my mom always says my friends are "okay". she never says that they're "good" or anything. one of my friends, is really cool. she's loud and stuff, but she knows how to cheer some one up and stuff. but, my mom hates her the most out of all my friends because she's loud. almost all my friends are loud, just that friend expresses it....more than the others. it's the 21 century, there arent many "goody goody's" anymore. but, my mom expects all my friends to be straight a students, have good parents, have good manners, and all that stuff.

also, my mom expects me to be perfect all the time. shes like "be the best out of your class." she's not like other moms who are like "try your best", she says "no, BE the best." it annoys me.

and they don't like skirts higher than the knee. i mean come on, i've seen grandmas who wear skirts above the knee!

So my "father" went into my room back in November and took my wireless card away when I wasn't home. Then, the next time I went out, he took away my entire laptop. He still hasn't returned it. He has no right to take it because he didn't give it to me. Nor did my mother. And he had the nerve to ask me for the charger and other cords, because he wants to use it. Too bad I'm one of two of the only people who knows the system password.

He threw a fit today because I used the digital camera yesterday. Apparently it's exclusively his, and nobody else can use it without asking. He started asking me if I'd like it if he went into my room and took my things. Ha. Asshole's already done it with my laptop. And at least I return and admit to what I took; he didn't. He asked me if all the pictures on it were deleted. He only asks that when he's going to return shit. That's fucking annoying. This is going to be the second digital camera that he's returned within the span of two months.

This is why I can't have nice things. Fuck. This is why I tell people not to ever bother getting me anything.

Me and my friends were talking about how disrespectful my other friend is towards her mom. I found it infuckingcredible how much she mistreats her mother. Her mom is so generous and loving. Has given the girl everything she needed and pretty much gets here whatever her cold heart desires. Her mom barely ever hits her, and we got into talk about beatings Lol. I remembered

One time, when i was around 11, my mom made me lay out on the kitchen floor, and she hit me with a broom until it broke in half.
My dad got mad at me once, pushed me over and knocked my head on the tile floor.

My music was too loud, so my mom came in and told me to turn it down. I said ok, and she just started screaming and yelling. i hate my mom and ive never liked her. but i do feel very sorry for her. i hate her personality: she always thinks shes right and she wont listen to any one elses opinions and when i try to tell her my opinion she just beats me up. she alwayyyss thinks shes right even tho she has no experience w/ wtvr shes doing..but thats typical of most parents isnt it

My Mom like always let me eat sweets, and sometimes made me eat them, and now she yells at me for being fat. It's like, she just needed a reason to take out all of her anger on me! I am also trying to loose weight, but my mom now all of a sudden is making me eat more, and trying to get me to have more snacks. She says it's to "grow healthy" but I think that I have enough fat to let me grow very healthy. I just sit there and take all of her yelling even though it's about stuff she did to me.

Also, just 'cause this topic is on parent complaints, I fell like sharing my friend's complaint, because I think it is really unfair.
So my friend has a sister, younger sister, and her mom was a younger sibling, too. Sooo... whenever her younger sister starts an argument with her, her mom always makes some excuse as to how it was her fault, and not her sisters. A list of excuses that she used that my friend told me are:
She is younger, and didn't know it was wrong, but you did.

You probably did something that made her mad.

(This is the most unfair one) She doesn't know how to take her punishment if she gets it, so she'll be in a tantrum, and besides, you fought back, so it is your fault mainly.


They are sad, and once she got grounded because her sister was messing up the yard, and it would be like, $100 to fix it all, and my friend was yelling at her to stop. And her sister just got a little talk, and she got grounded, I'm just like, glad I don't have parents like my friend, but my parents aren't perfect either.
