Anyone heard of iModel International? Is it good or anything? They asked my friend to join them at an public place, so I'm not sure if its safe or anything.

I dont know, but from what i've heard, those are scams. They ask you to pay a load of registration fee or whatever. and just take you're money and never call you.
think about it, if it was this easy shouldnt there be millions of models out there?

ive done something like that before, they can be good, i guess, but you have to pay loads of money. it might just be a scam, go online and find out more stuff about it. it sounds like a scam, since they asked her to meet them in a public place.

if you had to pay then its a scam. REAL model agencies dont ask for money first. they put to work, and then after you make the money, then they ask for it.

no matter if its a convention or an agency, MONEY SHOULD NOT BE UP FRONT. i model myself and am pretty sure about your problem. if your friend wants to go, then she should go. but if theyre asking for money before she does any type of work, she shouldnt continue. but then again, its your friend. if she doesnt mind paying, then she should pay. but if its a scam..then thats not good. i may not be fully correct so i dont want her to give up something that could have been good, you know? make sure that shes careful and have her bring her mom. like i said before, real agencies/conventions do not ask for money. thats the first sign of scam.

okay yeah, it wasn't a scam, it was more like a competition/convention place where hundreds of agents and managers go to the same place to look for new faces. it wasnt a scam, but it was helpful. i got to meet with about 20 agents and managers and almost got signed with one in newyork but my parents didn't want me to.

omgah_itsmaggiex, how did you start modeling?

As, for your friend, I agree that she should bring a parent before she starts to pay them for anything.

Personally, I'm not a really bugger for modeling, because I'm extremely self-concious in front of large groups of people, but that's just me. My friend said it's pretty fun (well at least modeling school is).

I've never heard of iModel International but I've heard about IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association) which shows up biannually in New York and LA. It's a convention/competition kinda thing. They test you in different categories and see what you're best at. Lots of famous people were discovered that way. The only catch is that you have to provide yourself with all the needed supplies like makeup and wardrobe. But it's a fun experience and you get to meet some of the stars who've been through it and became famous.

But this iModel International thing sounds like a scam.

Real modeling agencies will pay you to model, not visa versa.

Usually places that ask for money upfront are scams....so I'd just google it & find out more about it.
