eh? its simple like you said. I think you should change the link colors from the defualt blue to atleast black so it matches. So it looks like you did somethings with the codeing. (the cutenews links). Iono the layouts kinda weird iono how to describe but nice getting it up for your first domain.

yea.. i had issues with it.. for some reason my dns didnt restate and then cpanel didnt instal then i had to figure out cutenews.. lol

it looks like it was done in paint. which isnt bad...but it really doesnt look like you tried IMO.
