sorry i had to abbreviate the topic title to get it to fit.
ANYWAYS. basically ive been skinning for a while now, and im loving it. BUT ive come across my first issue out of all my skins thus far. Just using fireworks, i made a background image that includes a faux navigation, if you will. its links to the xanga homepage, etc etc etc, but its not actually a toolbar - its just part of the image. Ive been using this technique for a while. I simply used image mapper to map those parts of the image. interestingly, though, i can only click on those areas when the left margin of the main text body of my blog is set at 150 pixels or more, like so : HOWEVER, in order for everything to look right, i need it to look like this: (Remember, the differences between these 2 is in the left margin.) when i enter it in like that, the text moves to the correct spot, but my navigational links are completely null and void. Im wondering if there is a way around this. if it helps, the basic image for the skin is here.... CLICK this is my test xanga - you can see the problem. CLICK as another interesting note, the top links (myspace, facebook, aim) , and the "osnapiheartthat2" link on the alarm clock (that links back to my main page) work just fine. here is all of my coding, just in case. THANKS! |

Bump. It's called a bump.
[ http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61624 ] QUOTE IMAGE MAPPING TROUBLESHOOTING Check to see if any of those apply to you.
1. Make sure the USEMAP part of your image code matches the NAME of your map. ex. -> <map name="rawr"> means USEMAP="#rawr" 2. Make sure your blog's div layer isn't covering up your image map. ex. -> Div is 415px wide and image is 400px wide. Fix the div layer in that case. 3. Make sure that there's no spaces in your map name. ex. -> "rawr map" must become "rawr_map" or "rawrmap" or something of that nature. 4. Make sure you have height&width defined. The map doesn't know where to start/stop otherwise. ex. -> <img src="url" border=0 usemap="#imgmap"> becomes something like <img src="url" border=0 usemap="#imgmap" width="400px" height="600px"> |
