i dont really think theres anyone thats going to say no.

after being freed from slavery they needed help entering society.

no. any reparations would have further damaged the south and lead to increased racism. also, the south would have remained in economic desparity for longer.

this would have created a war in the south between whites and blacks, and would have ultimatley ended with the wholesale massacre of the blacks, with limited resistance.

morally they probably should have but it would have crippled an economy already suffering from the loss of a free work force.
