Hey, I want to make a website not with .net ot anything like that I want a .com site
I was wondering which site do I have to go to and do I have to pay? If so, how much? If anyone can help please reply or PM me... Thanx

go to a website like http://godaddy.com
create and account, and look for your prefered domain, and if it's already taken. a domain usually costs within 6-10$, from what I've seen, but I prefer godaddy, so that's just a suggestion. a domain name is just a .com or .net or .org name...you will need hosting if you want your website up, and online. I recommend looking at http://dreamhost.com ..they've been my host now for not even a month..and I like them. They don't have cpanel, but their interface is simple and not complicated at all. haha, i paid $10 for their 'crazy domain sale' ..but it's some sort of 'promo code' and I don't think I'd be able to post it without being looked down upon and dubbed a spammer/advertiser.. just google it.. i made the mistake, though, of registering a domain with godaddy to go with a free host like [ http://superfreeweb.com ] and then found dreamhost and they registered another domain for me...so now I have 2..I didn't want 2, but eh. |

That shows some hosts that will host your web site... There are some hosting plans for around 5 dollars a month. For domain name registratation... I recommend GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com. A lot of these sites will explain what to do... basically you buy a domain... buy hosting... then you'll get your name servers and you'll have to enter them into your domain registrar account (like GoDaddy or 1and1), and your host's support should explain how to do this. If you need help finding a host or setting up your hosting, just PM me. |

usually...unless you are very lucky, you're not going to find a place that offers free .com domains and hosting.
