yep. search for your local theatre or arts centre online, and find out what workshops they have on. print a few pages of info off, go along, and see what the deal is

^ Be patient. People will eventually post. And im not sure if this should be in relationships.
Try looking in magezines for acting classes and google it for agents in your area that might want to represent you and can get auditions for you. |

HINT: NEWSPAPER.
Sometimes they have ads about the upcoming play or production and will need people to audition. OR you can ask around in your neighborhood. OR you can go to the mall and look for any posted notices about lack of actors/actresses and audition dates. OR you can ask your parents to ask around for you. Talk to your parents. Tell them although they don't think you should go into acting, at least let you try. |

^ dont trust all the ads in the newspapers. some of them are just scams, trying to get people to act in porn movies.
you'l be better off if you start off with an agent. so just go on google, and type in "agencies in *name of the state you live in* and look at some of the sites and see which ones suit you. then you can email them, call them, send them a letter with a pic of you in it, or go to their open calls. if they like you, then they'll sign with you, and THEY'LL send you to auditions. you should also consider taking an acting class even if you CAN act well. some acting classes just teach you how to audtion, like, where to stand in front of a camera, how to do cold reads, stage directions and stuff. so yeah, acting classes can help. |

^ah but you gotta remember that agents can be tricky too!
Ok this is my kinda topic :) First get online. (i don't know here you live, or how old you are, but let's pretend you live in maryland and you are 17). There should be different community theatres in your area, that have auditions for plays, musicals..all year. I get this email called "Baltimore Alliance" and it tells me all the auditions in my area (it also lists workshops and everything). The audtions list plays, open casting calls for movies, commericals, and music videos, and musical theatre. But remember, if you really want to get into this whole acting thing, then you really need to get a headshot and a resume. And you need stuff to put down on your resume! meaning if you are doing musical theatre, you need to take jazz, tap, ballet classes, voice lessons..ect..If you are auditioning for a play or commercial, it's really good to have some acting classes and actors movements and stuff. And it's always good to have a play or two on your resume. So get online, search for "auditions in ______" (wherever you live). You should get links to places for music theater, reg plays, movies,,..blah blah..sometimes you can subscribe to a place and they'll send you emails weekly of auditions. But are you sure you want to get into this? it's a crazy business, you get really busy too. and it can be expensive and very time consuming. ( i say expensive when i think of a nice headshot). but it also matters how old you are and what kind of acting you want to get involved in. so really think this through! |
