I don't think i've heard of this before...But if it's basically rice and water, that sounds good, i'd add shrimp in it too, hmmm sounds good :)

Called "Jok" in cantonese i'm guessing thats how it would be pronounced? Long bred is like fried isn't it? "yao ja gwei" ^_^ |

Ugh, I hate regular, bland congee. It always makes me think of stuff I eat when I'm sick.
I do, however, LOVE congee with more flavour in it...like beef or chicken congee. It's sooo good. Haha, the long fried bread thingies...you mean..."Oil fried ghosts"? Haha. Yeah I love those too. =) |

Too much congee would make me throw up. I like congee with a bit of flavour. |

congee is pretty nice especially with preserved bean curd,salted black olives and pork sauteed with mustard(yeah,it may may some people retch) but I like it.Oooh and those fried long bread thingies too.

Oh, and I wanted to add, that pork dumplings (siu mai or shao mai) with plain congee is EXCELLENT. So is that dried crispy pork stuff.
