We go to my aunts on the 24th and stay up all night until 12. Open up one present [ sometimes more ] then go back to playing games or something. The 25th, we open more presents and dont go to bed until the 26th :D

we dont really have a set tradition except we go to my grandmas on the 24th and then every year we pick someone from my dads side of the family to have a christmas party at...usually the day after christmas. we only do christmas on the 24th at my grandmas (on my moms side) because he brother died and theyre the only family we have from her side.

Every year each member of the family gets a new ornament. It started when I was born and we didn't have a lot of money, so we could only buy one ornament at a time.

Now our tree has almost 50 ornaments on it. _smile.gif

Hmm, about a week or so before Christmas, my family goes to Rockefellar Center to see the Christmas Tree. We go to St. Patrick's Cathedral and then we go Christmas shopping.
On Christmas, my parents would have my brother, sister and I sing Christmas songs before we open the present.

Our family is too asian. We go to my grandpa's house and eat Korean food and play old Korean games and the adults do adult things and kids are bored and we give presents.

My family's tradition is for me to go and visit my dad in Arizona. But this year I decided to change it up a bit, and stay with my mom for Christmas. No Arizona this year. I never really have a big family gathering, just me and one parent. Fun stuff. stubborn.gif

Well my dad's side of the family does christmas oddly...
Like I only get two presents, one from my grandparents and one from a cousin
They draw names and do it, like:
Kara gives to Hayley
Katie gives to Kara
Hayley gives to Sean
Bradley gives to Katie

type of thing....
and then they do like a white elephant type of thing...and we eat...and thats it.

on my moms side everyone gives to whoever they want, so I usually end up with 20+ presents....and we read the whole christmas story in the bible about Jesus' birth and we eat, and hang out...I love my moms side more...lol because they are nice pinch.gif

well on thanksgiving, we wake up early and watch the macy's day parade on tv. then at around noon we go to my grandparents' house in long beach island and spend the day there, eating an early turkey dinner with yum food. then we come back home and stop at my aunt's house and visit them for a couple of hours.

on christmas eve, my dad's side of the family meets at my grandma's house where we exchange gifts, eat italian food, and play gift games. it's funnn.

christmas day---me and my siblings wake up and open presents from my parents. then my grandparents and aunt/uncle/cousins come over and we celebrate christmas day at my house.

Christmas is really actually getting on my nerves right now. It's too early for this. I refuse to acknowledge it until after Thanksgiving (which is a holiday I'd rather skip). So much Christmas music makes me twitch. Like, even in the band room. Percussionists practicing ridiculously easy concert band Christmas music in order to suck up. Ugh.

since my birthday is inbetween halloween and christmas, we put up the christmas decorations the day after my birthday (november 23rd, so on the 24th) every year.

Welllll, I don't celebrate Christmas. But my family usually just has like Chinese or goes to a movie...Something like that...

This year, if my boyfriend doesn't go to Canada to see his family, I might go to his house.

my christmas tradition? well, the last two years, my grandmother has had to go to hospital, the whole day was ruined, and everyone just wished it was over. and, there are presents too.

That wasn't the point. I'm (and assumedly him as well) am getting rather sick of Christmas things already. I have a whole Jewish following.

my grammar up there was horrid. "I'm and him am" I am am. him am. heh. oh wow. it's like "your're an idiot"

Just ignore him =)

The only family traditons I can think of are that me and my family drive around town (and I am from a very small town) to see Christmas light. On Christmas day, we all wake up early, usually around 9am to unwrap presents, and later that night we have christmas dinner.

edit// I didnt mean ignore James completely....I meant the response thay has nothing to do with the post.

well, this year christmas is going to be totally different.

for one, we always have cookies that my aunt sends us for breakfast. but we're having family. with 17 of us we arent going to get to have cookies for breakfast.
and i've always insisted on a real tree, this year we got an artificial, white tree. which is neat, but im going to miss the real one

So I just found out, this year we arent doing our whole traditional thing, instead of just buying a gift for the person whose name I got, I have to get them three things and put them in a "container" and it has to be themed....

so I did an oriental theme.... happy.gif
yeah, I shopped for this a lil early but I wanted to get it out of the way.

I have this thing at my aunts (which I don't think we
ll be doing anymore but I loved it) where we draw numbers and get presents under the tree. We can take away presents and stuff and of course we eat. We always decorate, but and have 2 christmas trees but without the REAL christmas trees, it's just not the same

On December 24th we're able to open one present from under the tree, lol. Um, all my family gets together and eats like crazy, (just like Thanksgiving), if my mom's in a good mood we'll go to NYC and go shopping or go see a show or something. I love Christmas :)
