i voted it really depends on the situation...hehe...i prefer the sensative sentimental advice but sometimes when you deserve the harsh critical advice then thats all you're going to get

It depends on the situation. Some times call for sympathy while other times, people just need a reality check.

^ Agreed.
When someone's having trouble getting over a breakup, for example, sensitive is always best. But if it's a dangerous situation or sensitive advice is getting through someone's thick skull, you have to be harsh. |

Sometimes you have to be harsh and not sugarcoat it so that way the person will finally get it. Other times if you don't sugarcoat the advice for that person, they'll get offended. It honestly depends on the person to whom you're speaking with and/or the situation.

Truth hurts..
and if someone needs the truth to be smacked in their face so that they can realize how stupid they were/are...I'd totally do it. But it truly depends.. I can be sympathetic too.. |

usually i need something between harsh and soothing. like i need a reality check like what silver rain said but not like someone insulting me by yelling at me "dump him already!!" i just need to take a look at like what's going on, take notice of how things are going and try not to base my decision on just my heart.

I'd rather have advice that was harsh but the truth, than soothing and just to make me feel better.

It depends on the situation...
If the situation is stupidass like, "Should I dump my cheating bf?" my response would be, "You wannabe whore, dump him!!!" or if the situation is life-threatening, that's when I show my real mature self (if I have one) *edit* Cupidangel81092 I LOVE YOUR AVY! sesshy-sama! |

Hard Love is how i give advice. I harsly give gentle advice [ or vice versa ] I give out really good advice if i do say so myself ( which i do :D ) Because i combine harsh words with gentle comfort. Both consoling and making my friend stronger for the events that stand before her/him |
