"The Phase", ....

So I was watching Comedy Central yesterday and this comedian of whom I forgot the name of mentioned something called "The Phase". The Phase is what basically something can do and get off scotch free of it. For example, if a girl kind of sleeps around in college with other girls, but later stops. She can say that it was a "phase" and people would actually go with it. Now it got me thinking about it and I remember a few of my friends had some of those in which I found interesting. Now, the question is do you know someone who had a "phase". If so, tell us about it.

I hate when parents are talking to their friends or something, and they'll get their voice real low and say "yeah, Meli's going through a phase right now..." like you're some kind of kid or animal or something...

I think it's pathetic, when people go through "emo" phases or "bisexual" phases. Just because it's considered cool.

err...no. cause..then i'd most likely be dead?

i said that all these kids in my school are attempting to sound emo by saying how they "cut" themselves and how they have "problems" when all they do is sulk around and their problems are gettin an 85 on a test.

which is pretty sad.

a prime example of people going through their little emo phases is this:

a rather "different" kid at my school starts to hang out with some people who CLAIM to be emo. last monday, he randomly comes to school with BLACK hair. (he used to BLEACH BLONDE mellow.gif)

then, he starts wearing ALL black and girl pants with a shoelace as his belt. then, he begins to wear this giant jacket similar to that of NEO from the matrix.

WEIRDO, I SAY...WEIRDOOOO!

I know a phase that really bugs the crap out of me. The "I'm going to buy a guitar and never practice it just because everyone else has a guitar and I think that by buying a guitar I'll look cool!" phase. So many of my friends went through that and I still yell at them for it.

No, I don't own a guitar. I refuse to own one.

ooOOhhh, I'd get a guitar. But only because I really want to play one. I'll never be emo or anything crazy like that. But I want a guitar, lol.

Or a violin. See? it's not a fad.

Luckily for me, the kids at my school seem to be immune to the "emo" virus.

I remember going through a little phase in which I was obsessed with interpreting dreams (very badly) when I was about 10-11. It was weird. I'd pore over these boring books in the library and not learn much.

Honestly.
I had two people I knew from elementary school that went on to junior high, thinking that just because they own a shirt from Hollister, they're now rad, retro, awesome, and yeah. This one girl that I knew for a long time suddenly became all .. emo, but not really in a depressed way. She just wanted a guy to play her the guitar and wanted to learn how to play the guitar just so she could be like the real shaggy emo kids. tongue.gif

There is this one chick at my school who used to be normal, and then this year just decides to be all emo and depressed and she died her hair black. She protests that shes not gothic, but no one claimed that she was. She just decided to make that comment to get it through our minds. Okay im rambling now. But you get the point.

^ Ahem. Not funny.

I hate when parents do that. "She's in her sensitive/girly/sports/gothic phase." Sadly, I think that's how some people live their lives, through phases.

Wow, I thought the whole Bi phase was just here. I guess it's everywhere.
