Gone but Never Forgotten

I left only a second, never thinking of my actions, not knowing my own ignorance would be used against me.

All I knew, all I saw, where your feet, hanging so high above my head. I prayed it to be a trick, even a mere figment of my mind, but my eyes traveled your still form, of you hanging silently.

So young, only at nine, you died. The dog I would never blame, never even when it was his chain you hung from.

No matter my acts I knew you were gone and I truly broke when they told me of your head, brain dead from the moment you left the ground and of the medicine killing your heart.

Eyes teary, breathe unsteady, I pulled the plug, wishing I'd never seen my son die......

Ok this was NOT written for my personel reasons, this was written for a friend of who his son was recenlty found dead, hanging from the dog's chain. I didn't really realize who he was until I saw pictures. Every bone in his body was broken.

So, I felt really bad for not remebering him in the moment. So this is what I came up with for the memory of him.
