alright, katie said something about official memebers and them having a certain amount of post counts, but being on staff no longer requires it, so i raised the question...do you now have to be an official member still to become a staff member? (kiera told me to start a new thread and that i am doing).

i think we still require it. im not sure if that made any sense, but well interpret as you like and discuss here.

I think you should have an offical member status to become a mod. Being an offical member is a priviledge that comes with certain benefits, one being the opporunity to become a staff member, if one proves themself well enough.

And wait, the post count requirement hasnt passed yet, we are still voting on it.

I say they should. If you can't take the initiative to become an official member, what are you doing applying for mod?

Just wondering because I'm confused. Is this to discuss whether or not mods should be an official member before applying?
I sure think you should be one before becoming a mod.

it's usually pretty easy to get official memberdom. add link to xanga, join group, wait for approval.

however, the waiting for approval might take longer for hiring... so...

That is true--there are members here that might not even be Official Members, but have the potential to become staff members. Some members might not even consider becoming an Official Member.

Also, let's not forget Official Designers. Do Official Designers get the opportunity to become staff members as well, even if they don't fit the Official Member requirements? Since official members have to have at least 5 PPD and a cB link button and all that other stuff.

It is true that it is easy to get the official member status.

Then these exceptionally qualifed regular members should take the initiative to become offical members like everyone else before them. Like people have stated before, it really not that hard become an offical member and it shows your dedication to the site.

As far as, say, offical designers going for a people staff postion, as long as show they same qualites that we looking for in a people staff member, they should be considered. That means, as offical designers, they must have been active in community forums as well.

OK. lets vote.

All those in favour of requiring a member to have first been an official member or designer (unless exceptionally qualified, determined by those responsible for hiring) before applying for a staff position, say aye. all those opposed, say nay
