well not really.

i just hate bootcut jeans though.

i hate when jeans don't cover my shoe.

it makes me look like i have big feet.

i hate straightleg jeans too.

so basically, i hate jeans that have too little leg openings.

get it?

oh, and

i see some girls like citting a slit to make it like cover their shoe.

what do you think about this?

i want to do it to these 40 dollar jeans i got at american eagle,

but i don't know if i should ruin a pair of 40 dollar jeans.

Well, the AE jeans I have don't really have a problem cover the shoe...unless you're really going for that bell bottom look, which I don't think is that flattering.

Buy some longer flare jeans, then.

I hate it when jeans don't cover a satifactory part of my shoes. FOr those jeans, I wear sandals with them..I don't think you should cut them. Try wearing them with sandals or flats.

wait...

bootcut jeans don't cover enough of your shoe?

that's strange...

guy's bootcut jeans are the wider ones at the bottom. i love them because they cover my shoe right.

I already get the smallest AE size (0 petite?) and they're kinda long. Like the bottom gets ripped up sometimes.

It's freezing over here and I don't really like flats :-\

I guess I'm saying I like flared/super flared jeans better than bootcut jeans.

I agree with you. I love flare jeans. But my reasoning is because the bootcut/straight legs make my thighs look HUGE. You could always hem your jeans if they're too long.

Yuup.

personally I don't like flare jeans too much, because they make me look so disproportinate. I'm not a tall person, and when short people wear flare jeans, their legs are shortened dramatically by the sudden curve of the pant leg.

The whole big feet thing just might your imagination, though, because I remember owning a pair of pants that I thought looked horrible with shoes, but when I looked in a mirror from anyone else's perspective, they looked normal.

I don't know. =\

^Haha that is true! My thighs look HUGE in ANY pair of jeans I wear. But when I look in the mirror, they still look big, but not as big as I saw them from my own perspective lol. Also, finding the right pair of shoes is significant.

Wait.. bootleg pants.. Aren't those flares as well? I have a pair of bootleg pants and they flare pretty big. But then again, I did hem them, BUT they're still big. It's almost like they're flares, but not. o__O I could never really tell the difference, even when people try to explain to me the difference between bootleg and flares. I tried on two pairs of jeans and ne was bootleg, one was flare. They looked exactly the same on me, except where my leg went through, it was a little wider in the bootlegs, but the part where my feet/shoe sticks out, they're the same... o__O Bleh idk.

Oh yea, and with jeans, if you want your feet to look smaller, wearing some wedges always does the trick. Also, since your feet curve, more of it is hidden under the pants. Thus, your shoes slightly peep out from under the pants, and looks more proportional.

Bell-Bottoms are totally out now lol. :P

the difference between guys boot cut, regular, and straight is this.

boot cut is a 22 inch opening, straight is 18 in, and regular is 16 in.

for girls i have no idea.

^ Yea for guys, sizing is always easier. >=[ I never understand because bootlegs look different on different people, so it varies. Usually for girls.

And guys have exact sizes for inseams as well as waist sizes... Girls have inaccurate sizes! pinch.gif

well the measurements are a bit inacurate too...

for instance the waist is 3 inches shorter than actual.

if you measure a 32, it's actually 35 inches.

but, i suppose it's better than "size 7"

yeah jeans ARE complicated. i can never find a pair of jeans that FIT just right. so i stopped looking. i wear baggy jeans now, i dont really wear tight fitted. i dont like it when they cover my shoes either, it gets them dirty, and im more of a straight leg jean wear-er. makes me look taller, IMO.

i've got a friend who has sz. 10 1/2-11 feet and wears size 0 long jeans. she's extremely skinny too. she got over the big feet thing and just wears whatever jeans she wants. she looks better without the bellbottoms too.

&&if you wanna try the slitting jeans thing, buy some cheap jeans first.

Slitting the sides of jeans.. It looks kind of tacky, imo. I remember seeing a few people who had pants like that, in the past. But hey, if it's done right, they might look cool. :]

Jeans never exacty fit just right... That's why getting them hemmed/altered always works.

sadolakced acid - Ooh really? Is that for all jeans? I guess that is understandable. Maybe that's why guys wear their pants on their hips (or sag them) because they're loose.. Hmm. But yea, it's more accurage than a size 0 as well!

In every store, a size 00 is completely different, which is why I've never been able to find the perfect size 00 jeans, even though I have two pairs that are that size. I remember being in reference, and a size 00 in one pair of jeans was like.. a size 4! Seriously! It was baggy, when the jeans were STRETCH, which is usually supposed to be tight. Then I tried on size 3 capris and they FIT! Makes no sense! lol

Usually if you're a reasonable height, like 5'4-ish, it's easier to find jeans than if you were really tall or really short. pinch.gif

oh yes, i hate jeans. ok... nevermind.

but i hate it when you wash your jeans, and they were the effing PERFECT SIZE, and then they shrink up to your ankles. damn.

i hate it when you wear jeans and they fit perfect at the beginning of the day, and then towards the end, they get all loose... and... stuff

blah, you get it. jeans are complicated.

^ That's why you should buy jeans that are long, like longer than what normally fits you. Usually, pants shrink half a size when you wash them the first, and that time only, but usually in length. If you can, wash jeans in COLD water only. ;]

And I think only Stretch jeans get loose. If you run a lot and do a bunch of other stuff, of course the jeans will get loose, since you're stretching them. I have a pair of jeans that slightly stretch, but aren't stretch (weird, huh?), but they never get loose by the end of the day. Make sure the fabric is thick too. If the fabric's thick, they tend to last longer and retain the form they did when you just put them on.

ugh same here I always end up with ripped jeans at the bottom. I buy the ''petite'' but I am not that short! My mom is shorter than me (by about a head) and she has to hem all her trousers. Why don't they make real petite sizes? Grrr! Agree with size being okay then you wash them and then they either shrink or get loose with time

What size shoe do you wear?
I wear a size 6 in jeans and shoes and I dont think boot cut jeans make my feet look big at all. I actually prefer them because they look good on petite people like myself. I usually wear mine with boots or flats. I dont think that people should cut their jeans on the side though because that just ruins them, at least take it somewhere where it can altered. (ie.dry-cleaners)

a size 6 in jeans and a size 6 in shoes? I'm confused. huh.gif How tall are you, btw?

Altering works. I know I got two pairs altered lol. But it sucks sometimes because depending on where you go, some places change you more for it.

It's way worse for us people who wear size 00. I can't even fit those because I don't know who's the smart-arse decided to make all sizes 00 bigger in waist, thighs, and length. So now I have to wear kids sizes. pinch.gif

And like I said, about the whole shrinking thing--you should buy jeans that don't fit the exact length--maybe an inch longer because when they shrink, they'll be the perfect size. If you tend to wear any platform/wedge shoes/sandals, you should wear them when you try on and buy the jeans. They help because if the pants shrink in length to the point where you can't wear them with shoes with any heel, then you can wear them with flats. :P That's what I do, haha. :]

and tequila_sky, idk what you're saying because whenever I try on anything petite, it's still made for people that are like, 5'4-ish and to me, petite should be 5'2 or less. I'm only 5'0, so almost nothing fits me becuase they're always too long or too wide. I have YET to find anything labeled petite, that actually fits me.

Argh I know this may seem a little off-topic -- BUT TRUST ME IT'S STILL ABOUT JEANS! -- Is when the front pockets of girl's pants are like, so small that only half of your hand goes in your pocket! I mean it! My abercrombie jeans' front pockets are so small that only my fingers go in my pocket, while the rest of my hand (the palm) is sticking out of the pocket. That sucks because If I put my phone in my pocket it bulges out to the point where it slips out and falls. pinch.gif

I wish front pockets were a little bit biggers. My boyfriend's jeans have such deep pockets that when he used to be like 5'5 the bottom of the pocket reached his knees! Well now they don't since he's taller. But still, I wish my pockets could fit more stuff. *sigh*

^to someone who asked earlier (i think it was christina?)

There is a difference between bootcut and flares. Bootcut jeans are cut differently, making you legs look slimmer and fitting perfectly over boots.

Jeans are sooooo hard to find. I have yet found a pair that fits perfectly. (i have a size 1 waist and really athletic legs which brings it up to a 4 petite so I either wear a belt or pull up my pants every five seconds)

edit:// yeah it is much easier to destory jeans yourself. Just go to a thrift store and buy like 6 pairs of cheap jeans then have fun with them.

i'd destroy my own jeans.

hell, i could do that right now...

except i like my jeans the way they are, and barely fraying.

if i ever wanted destroyed jeans i'd so do it myself. it'd be quiet easy to do so too...

yea.
