Hmm. I can't think of anything too incredibly odd but a few years ago, when I was doing a lot of family research, I found out a lot of intersting things about my family's past.

- My great-grandmother and her twin sister were "mistakes." Their mother was 50-something when they were born...their father, 62 I think. Nobody thought the mother would make it through labor with twins so when they were to be born, the family moved back to Tennesse so the mother could be buried there after giving birth. Turns out, she didn't die. _smile.gif
- My great-grandfather (husband to my great-grandmother above) worked on the Manhattan Project, desiging a specific part of the atomic bomb. I still don't know what exactly he did....he was never allowed to tell us.
- I'm related to Princess Diana and when she died, not only didn't we go to England to attend her funeral but my mom wouldn't let me wake up to watch it on TV either. I was little and she thought that I wouldn't understand a lot of the stuff that was going on. Plus, because of the time difference, the funeral was at like 2 AM our time or something crazy like that. I believe we did send flowers, though.

My father’s family side has related hard of hearing problem. It could be genetic issue. Who knows? The reason I mention this because I’m hard of hearing too .. and i wore hearing aids. I’m very suspicion and aware of that situation due to the fact that my cause of hearing loss is unknown and my brothers seem to be hard of hearing.

Yah...i kinda have a weird story.
Ever since I can remember I've been told I'm adopted from Seoul, Korea. My parents didn't try to hide it from me. When i asked why i looked different and where i was from, when i was a kid they would just say, "Seoul, Korea".
And a little bit ago i found out i'm not from "seoul". i'm from somewhere else in Korea...it came up in normal conversation the other day, and i was just like.."oh.."
lol i dunno, there you go

Julia- No, I've never met Prince William or Prince Harry

Spencer- I found out this information from my grandmother and great-grandmother when they were still alive. Also, from my sister when she did a family history project, my mom's uncle (my grandmother's brother) who loves family history and knows just about everything there is to know about our family, and other family members who know a little about our family as well.

Same. _unsure.gif
I was taken care of by my Grandmother and Aunts and raised in China for the first three years of my life.. which I had no idea of. Not much of these stories in my life, but my godsister does. She still doesn't know, we're not really allowed to tell her, but she thinks that her parents are married right now, but they aren't. Infact, they were never married.. and there's some confusing explanation behind this that I'm not supposed to know about =)

People on my dad's side of the family have bad luck with death. One had a ladder fall on them, one fell out of a window, one fell down some stairs, and they all died. And those are only a few examples. rolleyes.gif

You know, James, I do remember finding the occasional cig butt in your yard, but we always attributed that to them always popping up in random places as they do, not that your dad smokes. My mom came into my room smelling a lot like smoke after a big fight with my stepdad one night, and so I asked her, and she avoided the question by telling me to go to sleep and leaving. It really bothered me, so I made myself completely forget about it until just now...

You know, I don't know why my parents got divorced...

My stepdad tells me really random things...about riding his bike up steep hills to buy ciggerettes to fit in because they actually had smoking breaks at schoool, but he quit because he didn't actually like it. And that he lost his virginity when he was like 20 or something (which equalled, err, kay, I didn't care to know that). my mom told me some odd story about dating some guy whoe wore small gold speedos who was twice her age and practically stocked her giving her gifts...and appanrently she was the only one in her family who never smoked, but she would occasionally with a drink, or cloves with her brother and she always used to say that she got her first kiss late, but uh, I'm older than that now and yeah...But so, I really wish they wouldn;t say these things and then not mention the things I actually want to know

yeah i hate divorce, though i ain't a victim i hated the thought of it. my mom says a lot of couples divorce because they barely have time for each other. Now that i think about it, i remember my dad saying it's because they're not faithful Christians so they have bad morals (i don't believe that one)... but oh well...

one thing that really got me (now that i remember) was when i found out my grandpa had 2 wives and never divorced... the truth is i shouldn't be so surprised back then because he was a traditional, old-fashioned chinese dude

I've got tons of family drama.

My grandma has 2 families. She left the first family, married my granddad, had my dad and my uncles, then left THEM, and is now with my second grandpa who she didn't have any children with. I didn't find this out until a couple years ago.

My guess is she has an issue with kids.

Not really odd but .. I found out before that my stepdad* right now have had on and off relationship with my mother since 1989 which scared the fck out of me because I was born on 1990.

Right now .. I don't really care who made me.

edit:// Oh yeah, this is the odd thing: I was there back in 1993 when they both had sex in the room they were in.

I was watching Access Hollywood the other day and my dad was in the room. They were talking about Brooke Shields and other celebrity moms. My dad heard them talking about her and said "Did you know that one of my good friends from high school went to Princeton with her and is still close friends with her today?" I was, "Ummmmmm......noooooooooo.....why did you neglect to tell me this?!?" It turns out that another one of my dad's friends (who is best friends with his other friend) dated Brooke Shields while she went to Princeton also. And I also found out that Brook Shields's grandfather is Ernest Hemingway...I never knew that either. It was quite an englightening experience. Heh.
