Um..try to see what's wrong.
You should go if you feel really sick. |

oh my God. I had this feeling a couple of years ago. it may be a really high fever, and the body doesn't let you stand up. I had a fever of 106, but I don't know whether it's the same for you.. =/ but you really shouldn't be on the computer. get in bed.

I've been having this lately too except to a very much larger extreme. I pass out. And I stop breathing. I've been transported to the hospital by ambulance nine times since July. I have something called neurocardiogenic syncope. Basically, when people stand up, blood rushes to their legs because of gravity. Your vasovagal nerve in your stomach sends a message to the brain that the rest of the body isn't getting enough blood. The brain then tells the heart to work harder and pump more blood around the body. However, my vasovagal nerve doesn't work. I'm not sure if this is what you're experiencing but the first step to finding out is going to the ER or at least getting an appointment with your primary care physician. Your doctor may recommend that you see a cardiologist. I'm currently taking Toprol, which is supposed to stimulate my heart to pump more blood when I stand up but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. My doctors are still in the process of figuring out what is wrong with me. One general tip is to increase your fluid intake, especially things like gatorade that are high in sodium and electrolytes. Also make sure that you're frequently but healthy. When you start to feel dizzy and hot like this, you should immediatley lay on the ground and elevate your feet. I know this may sound silly but gravity will help the blood flow back to your brain. I hope I've been of some help to you.
//EDIT// I just realized that I didn't really answer your question as to what they would do to you in the hospital. They'll probably give you a lot of fluids through an IV and talk to you about eating and drinking right. They'll also tell you to follow up with your doctor and they might run a few tests on you depending on how severe it is. |
