Okay all you mcr fans.

Have you heard about it?

MCR made the video for "Ghost of You" due to air in september.
However it was leaked.

The band has requested that no one view it, but kids will be kids. Right?

I haven't seen it, can't seem to find it.

The video is supposed to be their best ever. Very cinematic, you think it was a trailer to a new war movie. a fellow dotcom'er said, "its very said, very emo"

Since it was leaked it's probably going to be a little different.

I'm not sure but I think they used clips from Saving Private Ryan, as I don't think the band would be given such a large expanse to recreate something along the lines of the opening battle scene for Saving Private Ryan.

I'm going to have to admit that it really does get the best of the song. Them chosing to use this kind of theme to it really fits the song, and well, it really brings out alot of emotion to it as well.

ok so, this is what happen is the video...
It shows people at this hall, dressed ffrom the 40's, and they all talking in stuff, then the music starts playing. Gerard starts singing at the hall, and it shows the rest of MCR playing the music. It then shows the guys in the war dancing to MCR's "Ghost of You" with girls and stuff. It then shows the guys going to war on a boat, someone throws up, and they show MCR. It then goes back to The "hall" scene where everyone is dancing. Then they show MCR drinking together at a bar, and having a feel good time. Then, they show the people dancing, then it goes back to the war scene. that part is really cool because they show the dance floor, then it turns so water, then it's all war. Then Mikey and the guys stare at the camera, then turn away. This girl in the vid plays Mikey's gf, and they show Mikey turn around and smile at her. Then in shows Mikey who gets shot, and dies. Gerard is crying out "MIKEY" you can read his lips. Then Gerard tries to save Mikey, but he dies. It then shows Gerard spazzing out. Then , the song is ending, and the camer zooms into Gerard's face who looks heartbroken, and then song ends, and you can heard guns and stuff being fired. That's it!

I agree it went mainstream as soon as 'I'm not OK' hit the air. But for me? I like 'Vampires will never hurt you' And no I don't look or act like a typical fan becuase I don't lock myself in a room and cut and dress in all black. But guess what? I love ALL their music. So get over it.

OK, Jordanriane and everyone else who thought this was made from Saving Private Ryan stuff, it was not (I did my homework!) It was made by World War Two reenactors in california on a beach set there. And yes, there are a large number of people in the US who do WWII reenacting. We set up displays to educate the public on how the real soldiers lived, and do tacticals, where we do combat situations, many times for the public. Anyway, the shoot was high quality for a music video, they had hollywood "squibs" (explosions, rig ups in the actors jackets, etc) and a real WWII landing craft. I am a member of a WWII reenactor's forum where I heard about this video shoot a couple of months ago from some guys that were in it, I and they have been anticipating this video just as much as you guys! The similarities between it an SPR are close, but it was not really the movie SPR that inspired it, but D-Day, the Allied invasion of france in WWII. No CG stuff was used, it was just a beach shoot with WWII reenactors and the rigged explosions. Saving private ryan is one of my favorite movies--- so i have seen it... i know what it is, so thanks for that. no one really cares about your theory now... and what is it, anyway??? first you thought that they BOUGHT the clips (which you would automatically dismiss if you knew ANYTHING about the bacnd and how much they enjoy making videos and the whole process) then you decided that they just ripped it off. that they might have took a piece of spelberg's imagination and recreated it because they were too lazy to involve themselves in making a video.

why would the uniforms, props, and and scenery would look the same??? MAYBE because the soilders wore the uniforms in the real war.... (didnt know how that would get pass you!) the props... well, since they used weapons, and all the weapons were the same..... and historical. and the location???? my god-- the war took place where??? the beach in the case of the battle they were dipicting.. i think that the MCR video and Saving Private Ryan would probabally have those elements in common, since they are FACT.

i would guess that if a TRAINED soilder were wounded, he would have the common sense/knowledge to put pressure on the area to try to slow the bleading.... wow....
i think that if i got hurt in war, i would probabally try to stop the bleeding and put some pressure on it, would you not?

The WWII scenes used members from our group who re-enact what a US Army unit looked like. They hired us (and other guys from So. Cal area). We have all the gear. They brought the boat, camera and a cool song. The band members were very cool and seemed to ahve a good time. They wanted to buy the uniforms after the shoot.
