Ok, heres how it goes. I am an extremely lonely eigth grader. I go to a christian school. Even if it is a christian school its filled with jerks who make fun of me. My last name is litterally the word "Gay" and not to mention I'm a computer genius. That scares everyone away.

I am at that age where it seems as if I have to have a girl and I know I don't need one yet my heart tells me I do.

Most of my friends are girls cause all the guys are immature. alot of the girls claim they woulod date me but I doubt it. I have a problem with telling girls when I like them. I told as close friend of mine last year htat I liked her and she turned completely against me. Never talked to me again and even left my school. I hate my life at some parts. I dont want to risk losing any more friends yet I dont want to be lonely.

Uh...so? Your last name means gay big deal. If people are making fun of you for that, that is seriously sad. Who makes fun of people for their names nowadays and for the people who are just scared of you cause your last name means gay...thats a pretty stupid reason isn't it? Being a computer genius isn't bad, twist it so it works for you =) Anyway, if you don't know what to do with a girl then it's just not the right time for you to do anything so you really don't need to worry about it. Whatever happens, happens and you should spend time worrying about trivial stuff like that. The whole "Christian" school thing...since your only in 8th grade can't you transfer to public when your in 9th? My friend did that...Sometimes people have more girl friends than guy friends and I'm one of those people too. A lot of the guys are cool to talk to once in a while, but just friendship wise, I can connect better with girls. With the liking problem, since I'm actually gay and I told my friend that I liked him it was a big deal and he started all this crap but I know I will get over it eventually. Your friend obviously wasn't your a good friend if she left you like that. Oh and for the you not wanting to take risks...in life the bigger the risks are, the bigger chance for happiness...or something like that. sweetie, i have a friend whose last name is Gay and if there are people who'd make fun of her or her brothers for it, they're not worth anyone's time. and though this may not be easy, don't let immaturity, the shallowness of others bring you down. it's not worth it.

and it's not your heart that's telling you you want a girl, it's your hormones. this is normal and very hard to control at any age. trust me on this. i'm not even going to tell you to try to subdue them because it wouldn't be an easy accomplishment, but i want to tell you to not let it get the best of your emotions. feeling like you want a girl is one thing, but feeling lonely because you don't have a girlfriend at your age is simply your hormones going haywire.

Give it some time..You don't need to be in a relationship in 8th grade..
And about your last name..If people tease you or can't accept that your last name is Gay, thats their problem..Some people are really immature and think a name gay means that the person is gay..Don't waste your time on them..Someone might not like you right now, but there will always be someone who will like you no matter what your last name is..

I'd say wait until highschool or college. People are more mature then. Personally, I'm waiting until college. I think it's unnecessary to have a bf/gf when you're most likely not going to spend the rest of your life with them. I'd rather have a really close guy friend who I could possibly get married to but don't because we'd wait until college.

By the way, you're not the only hopeless romantic out their either. I had alot of relationship problems in 8th grade, too. As you get older, you'll realize how amusing and fun it is to be single. When you're single, you can do anything you want and talk to anyone you want. You can be independent. In our adolescence, perhaps the most important lesson is learning how to just that while learning to interac with other people. Let me tell you, it will be much harder to achieve that when you depend on a relationship to feel whole. My friend is like that and he hates it but is stuck in a rut of dependency and immaturity.

Maturing is much easier as a single guy/girl with his/her friends. You find the most about yourself from your friends, not relationships.

i've been going to catholic schools my whole life anyway, but some people in catholic schools are snobby, but you're just in eighth grade. i'm sure you'll find a great girl as you grow older. don't rush into a relationship. focus on making friends . . stuff like that. but if you keep thinking about how lonely you are, it'll get worse. just think good thoughts.

I LOVE computer geniouses. I've been looking for one my whole life... Too bad we live far away!!!!!!! I hope this cheers you up but I really like guys with your personality. It's like we can connect because of it! I hope you stop feeling lonely. I feel lonely all the time but I try to focus on what's good for others not for myself. Based on what you wrote in thsi topic it seems you put others' being before you (thus you don't express your feelings). THat's very sweet of you. And I am not saying that to cheer you up! During my childhood years I was in a roman catholic private school (stricter than Christians) but have been going to public schools once I moved to the USA. So I kinda know how you feel.
