there are all sorts of communities: neighborhoods, small towns, churches, etc. the internet community, like so many others, can be sub-categorize. there are forum communities to discuss religion, sex, teens. there are communities for blogging like xanga or myspace. i think they're all just cyber versions of everyday communities; there's just a tad more lawlessness is all.
first, i'd section your prompt into a two-part question: how the internet brings people together, and how people form communities on the net. what do you think? |
