I've heard that the ___.xanga.com doesn't work (beta and something else) on some because they filter out any and all blogging type sites. I'm not sure how it works, but I guess it changes from school to school. There was another topic on this at one point.
What is so wrong about xanga that you can't use it at school? Like, during free times and all? Ha, I got my first xanga at school, but that was a year and a half ago and I guess it wasn't quite as big yet. |

www.worldlingo.com works to translate the page - - but all you have to do is translate the page from another language to english, even though it's not originally in another language.
www.the-cloak.com is anonymous ip surfing also |

I'm surprised there are so little replies concerning proxies in this thread. Yeah. You can either use someone else's or set up your own. It's wicked simple to use and stuff. My school blocks anything related to 'fun' :P, so I use a proxy to get to blocked websites when I'm chillin' in the library. Never tried Proxify before but it looks promising. |

my school blocked xanga...and then we moved to the using beta.xanga.com and then they blocked that. ive even gone so far as to try to unblock it, but they made it so that you cant change the internet options. nobody really finds out if we do anything, but cB isnt blocked and im not as big on xanga anymore. (i tried this freshman year). the whole beta.blockedsite.com used to work recently, but today it wouldnt.

right, I used to be able to get around blocked xanga a number of ways (usually premium.xanga.com or going through emails from xanga) and then it became increasinly more difficult to use certain features (near the end it wouldn't let me post or view subscriptions) but now they've blocked it altogether because of an incident with someone making a xanga imitating a teacher. It's so aggrivating. I'm in desperate need of a new way to overcome it

Why don't we get that xanga tags, and I can find an ASP host, an than make my website a non-searchable website, so than you can veiw your xanga there. It will still post to your xanga, but it won't be found in your school's web browser, because it is a hidden website. Well, that's how it is in my school. But, my school still uses Win98.... |

I've found very useful service, in few words - if you have blocked livejournal.com on your work by crazy sysadmin or firewall, it will help you!!! Check it our at Livejournal Gate for more information. :))

Try http://proxify.net |

when my school blocked myspace we all got on through proxy servers.
if u go to -link edited due to a virus site- and u agree to the terms of use and then type the url and it takes u there. Please do not give links if it will give people viruses. This post has been edited by Kenado: Oct 15 2005, 04:39 PM |

IF you CAN install AOL 8.0 or 9.0, you will be able to see any site you want, lol you can even open 2 websites using the same Java scripts, like playing yahoo games, with yourself, like pool, chess, since you can login from 2 different yahoo IDs (1 on your normal browser and the other one in the AOL browser) and play fooling the yahoo games java counters, so you can gain more ranking points, oups? it was a secret? heh i dont like secrets anyway.

i go to this really high tech school. everything is blocked. and they have this thing too, where okay, pretend there's this new thing, like myprofile.net or something. if a lot of people log into it, it shows up on the school's internet logs (like history) and they check it out and block it.
beta.xanga.com used to work but i don't try it anymore; because we have to log in at our school's libraries and computers, so they can TRACK EVERYTHING you do. its creepy. hope beta.xanga.com works for you. |

^my school's done that too. beta.xanga or premium.xanga used to work, but no more. there's really no way around it without hacking that a) i don't know how to do and b) could get me suspended. my friend's brother got expelled and lost his scholarship to MIT last year for putting a keyboard password thing on school computers as part of some sort of senior prank
