i could never do retail or any type of mall jobs because they don't pay as much unless you're manager or something.

my previous job was a cashier at target.. let me tell you, it sucked. you don't really get any benefits for one. you get 10% off merchandise though. you deal with all types of assholes there either from your co-workers, or customers. i was really getting sick of it, dreading it every single day.. so one day i decided to grow some balls and quit.

since i have to pay for car insurance and such, i HAVE to work at my moms chinese restaurant as a delivery girl. its easy since i do work for mom. i don't do much but sit around the comp all day long until there is a delivery that needs to be made.

There might be a topic like this but I couldn't find it. whistling.gif

So, I really need some christmas money/car money. I'm trying to get a job at this little coffee mill, it looks bright. Most of the places I've applied to only higher 18 and older... and seeing as I'm 16 they just sneer at me.

So what about you? Do you work? and if you do, where?

i agree! i'm 17 and it's hard for me to get a job, because i guess first of all i look kind of young and second, they're always like, "you have to be 18." i think most places would rather hire an 18 year old because they're less trouble then younger kids...they don't have to worry about how many hours they can work and labor laws.

I don't have a job, I'm only 14. But I want one.

At Stop&Shop, I think you have to be 15.
Try at your local supermarkets.

And since it's winter, a lot of places at the mall are offering seasonal jobs.

Of course, it's over here so I'm not sure about where you live.

I don't have a job yet. I'm going to get one here in a couple months when I turn 16. Most places here want 16 or older. I'm thinking about getting a job at a bookstore or a coffee shop.

I work at a patisserie (they sell loaves of bread, cakes, fill bagguettes, rolls and sandwiches) the works pretty easy but just really tiring. I get 10% discount and get to take cakes and bread home at the end of the day! Some of the people working there are great, others not so great, but i can live with them, just.

I'm glad that my job makes you happy. It usually just pisses people off because "it takes too long" to get their computer back, even though we work on it as quickly as flippin possible according to the laws of physics.
