Well everyone likes kiddie games.
![]() I don't think it can be segmented strictly across gender. One girl at college plays Star Wars: Battlefront II with us a lot, and I know a bunch more than play FPS'es. I have another girl friend who likes fighting games a lot, too. It does seem to be an age thing, though--most girls in high school that I know either don't like videogames, or only like Mario-type games (nothing wrong with that, of course--Mario and Zelda tie for my favorite game franchises ever). |

Because PS2 has been slapping its competition around like a lil b**** for years, and PS3 already has some major games coming out for it. (MGS4, RE5, DMC4, GT, Tekken, FF13, etc). If they continue to get the most 3rd party support, they'll win again. Plus it doesn't hurt that the PS3 will be the most powerful system next-gen, it'll support 1080p resolution, and use blu-ray discs (50+ gb capacity).
I don't know about the Rev at all... but now it seems like Nintendo won't be on the same league as Sony and MS in the console business. Especially in the US. |

I don't know about the Rev at all... but now it seems like Nintendo won't be on the same league as Sony and MS in the console business. Especially in the US. The thing is, Sony is making it difficult to get 3rd party support because their hardware is just so hard to develop for. Nintendo and even Microsoft's hardware is easier to program on. A lot of the PS3's power will go to waste. Power and graphics is not everything. Case in point: PSP vs DS. The DS's innovative style of play beats out the PSP's superior hardware and visuals. The Revolution is using a different strategy than the 360 and PS3. Think of it as a baseball team. The 360 and PS3 are a team who tries to swing for the fences each and every at bat. The Revolution is the team that uses fundamentals like bunting and sacrifice flies to get runs scored. Sometimes one strategy works over the other, but I think the Revolution is going to surprise a lot of people. |

The reason DS has been outselling the PSP is mainly because of the games. PSP is kinda in a drought right now, nothing much interesting has came out recently besides GTA:LCS, while DS has been getting a lot of stuff.
Graphics are definitely not everything, but PS3 is already getting the support and the games. You know, the kind of games that made PS2 so successful. And I heard the 360 hardware is easier to program on, but wasn't it the same with PS2 vs Xbox? Isn't the PS3 easier to program on than PS2? I forgot. But maybe you're right. It's too early to say anything either way. However I still have a hard time figuring out how Nintendo's new controller will work with all kinds of games. So far, it looks like it's more suited for mini-games. |
