Women who wore their bras 24 hours per day had a 3 out of 4 chance of developing breast cancer (in their study, n=2056 for the cancer group and n=2674 for the standard group).

Women who wore bras more than 12 hour per day but not to bed had a 1 out of 7 risk.

Women who wore their bras less than 12 hours per day had a 1 out of 152 risk.

i use to wear a bra to sleep/. i thought it was more comfortable to wear a bra all the time. but now, i think its really uncomfortable to wear a bra to sleep. plus, i heard if you wear your bra to sleep, your boobs dont grow at the regular speed its suppose to.

Oh my God! How old are you? Twelve. First of all, as I am sure someone has mentioned, serach the forum first. I know we are all guilty of reposting topics, but, still. Secondly, remember when you mom told you that if you made weird faces for too long that your face would get stuck... did that ever happened? And also, cancer is genetic. For instance, if people on both sides of your family have it, you have the chance of getting it. It doesn't really matter how you treat your body, but it definately helps to take care of it. See Lance Armstrong, amazing bycicalist obviously healthy and then boom: cancer.

Even with all the classes and programs out there I am still surprised at how much people think is true.

umm..if you look closely, this topic was made back in 2004. and just to prove your theory wrong, i actually searched this forum and there were no "bras lead to cancer" posts.

second, if you looked up 2 posts from yours, i gave evidence that wearing a bra can lead to cancer.

Actually, bras are a form of breast binding, altering the shape of the breasts by applying constant pressure to the soft breast tissue. This compression interferes with the circulation within the breast.

Specifically, the bra impinges the lymphatic vessels that drain fluid from the breast tissue, leading to fluid build-up and tissue congestion, a condition called edema. i highly doubt that. my moms a nurse and she would had of said something to me about that cause when i was younger i always slept with my bra on


besides, cancer is when a cell gets completely screwed up, how the eff can a bra screw up your cells?

Upon reading APPLEjuiceX's post...I cannot say wearing bras to bed won't give you cancer, but then again didn't it say studies? Or is it proven, I don't care. I wear bras to bed and I like the safety it gives me when guys try to pinch my nipples, ouch. If it CAN lead to cancer then I hope it doesn't spare me.
