Pretty Girls Make Graves - The Get a Way
(Though I don't like the middle quite as much as I should)

If you're into Eisley, you should try listening to Denali.
Denali - Time Away
They have this... eerie, melancholic sound to them.

For Rilo Kiley fans, try listening to Metric.
Metric - On a Slow Night
... or any other song by them.
I've been a Metric fan for years; they're awesome.

I think I mentioned them a while back. Around last year, I listened to their stuff for a week straight.

For me, that's pretty damn extreme.

so i found this cool record shop in seattle that's close to where we're staying, and i was looking on their site, and little brazil is going to be doing an in-store while we're there! hopefully i can go. i hadn't heard of them before, but the lead singer played in desaparecidos and the good life. anyone know if they're any good or not?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I never actually listen to cds, unless I borrow it from a friend.

I think I've bought two cds in my entire life. mellow.gif

I know I should be supporting bands by buying their stuff, but... I don't know, I just don't like to buy cds.

Plus, there are no record shops around here, and the prices of cds at B&N are really skewed.

yeah, it would be easier too if they werent so expensive. im going broke and i havent bought anything but music in ages

but my burner broke, and im banned from the computer again (this is becoming an every other day occurance, but it doesnt matter all that much, because i get back on anyway, like right now) so i cant just listen from the computer

i also use p2p just to sample. even though cds are expensive.. i just feel guilty if i don't buy the cd and i claim to love their music. i think i have about 75 cds from the past two and a half years.

i'm either going to best buy or going online shopping for cds today. i plan on getting one or two mates of state cds, a her space holiday cd, and then broken social scene's newest or an m. ward one.

I pirate music all of the time. I have copies of cds online that I've downloaded, and original copies of cds that I've bought.

There are other places to buy cds other then B&N.
There's best buy, wal-mart, target.

With bands that are on major record labels, the percentage of money they usually see is pretty low.. As far as other non-major label bands, it helps them out in the long run.

Granted, it's a personal thing with buy cd's... But honestly, I think what you're doing is truly just ripping the bands off. I at least try to buy a few cds of bands that I really admire and love to at least show that I'm willing to spend a few bucks here and there. If don't buy their cd, I'll at least make sure I buy their merch, or go to their show to show mysupport.

Hm, I don't buy CDs, but I do go to a lot of shows, buy band merchandise, and try to spread the word about certain bands.

Like I have stated before, I dislike buying cds (mostly because I never actually listen to cds) In fact, the only working cd player that I own is now actually my brother's.

Sure, I could play the cd in the car, but I prefer driving in silence (one of the many reasons why I don't listen to the radio). And I could listen to it on my computer, but I already have loads of mp3s.
