Tounge ring??? Options

i've heard many people say it doens't realyl doesn't hurt all that much however if you plan to get it pierced do it somewhere clean and safe and with recommendations. wrong piercing in the wrong place can make you have brain tumours.

my cousin got his toung pierced and in the family i was the first one to find out. He said that it didn't hurt that mucha and he does not talk weirdly. Also, you dont take it out when you eat and its hard for it to get infected because of your saliva and that keeps your mouth pretty clean. Oh, and if you brush your theeth that should keep your mouth clean too. Also, if you're worried about having a big hole theres diffrent size gauges, usually you use a fourteen or sixteen gauge for your toung but the higher the number the smaller the hole and if you go to a licensed professionaly then they know how to do it and i wont mess up, i promise! oh and also

that is abosolutly not true. a brain tumor is caused by mutated cells which build up in one area of the brain [obviously]. it has positivly nothing to do with your toung!!!

hmmm, if it gets infected when u swallow it goes through ur whole body then ur f**ked. plus if u have pretty teeth its gonna get ruined when u talk coz the piercing its the back of ur teeth. im into eyebrow piercing ^-^

There are several reasons why not to, and most of them have been stated already. ._.
And I don't really think your mom would lwt you pirece your tongue, even when ytou're 47.

I really don't suggest you get your tongue pierced. My mom was a nurse for a long time, and she saw many teens with heart problems and horrible infections from tongue piercings. When you pierce your tongue (or any part of your mouth, for that matter) the bacteria in your mouth can get into your viens, and give you heart disease. My mom helped with open heart surgery on one girl who had a tongue piercing. Worst case scenario, THEY CAN BE FATAL.

If you still want to, at least do research to see the dangers yourself.

Um, you are very incorrect. The saliva in your mouth carries billions of bacteria, that are very harmful to your body if they get into your bloodstream from a piercing in your tongue. When you get your tongue pierced, it's a one time thing. Your tongue will repair itself so rapidly, that even leaving it out for a few hours will make it difficult to put back in.

Another problem with tongue piercings is you can get into a lot of teeth issues. You can get diseases in your gums from the metal, and they can break/wear down your teeth.

Not really. People talk normally with tongue piercings. It's not like there's this huge ball that's in your way when you talk. After a while, you hardly notice it's there.

Yes well, my mother is a nurse to, for 15 years. I have a vertical labret & snakebites. There's nothing wrong with oral piercings. If you clean your piercings, you'll have them a long time & you won't get any infections. It's not like you'll die from them.

he wore it to school a few times, and it was like "holy cow!? is he like allowed to wear that thing to a catholic elementary school?!"
he also has an eyebrow peircing. but thats besides the point.

OK so i want a tounge ring but my mom wont let me get one....and im only 14 but i was gonna make a deal with her when i was 16 if i could get it done but everyone is telling me that she wont let me do it....also...if you do...DID IT HURT???

Well im 15 and I want 1 and I made a deal with my mom that if I get one I will buy a retainer they cost about $10 depending on size. Retainers are tongue rings that are the color of you tongue so that it looks like you don't have one. Or you can just get your tongue pierced buy a retainer and don't tell your mom. She probably wouldn't notice and they don't hurt from what i've been told. And if anything if you do go get it pierced ask if you can have your tongue numbed or take Halls Max they numb your mouth and taste good.
