In High School, everytime new semesters would start..teachers would always say my name wrong cuz on the roll sheet is my chinese name..so they are like "err...Hsiiangggg YING?????" I'm like..just call me Nina man...haaha it's so embarrassing, that I have to explain it everytime and tell them to change to Nina. But it's ok now that I'm in college and teachers don't have to call roll!!!

YVONNE YVONNE YVONNE YVONNE YVONNE.

It's EVE. ON. LIKE EVE ONN. EVE ON top of the world.
Not YUHVON or YEVON or EV ON or I VON.
People pronounce 'Yvette' correctly but not Yvonne. Wth. Eve et. Eve on. When Y is sometimes a vowel.

Eve. On.

Yvonne.

Sometimes but not really. I don't think Katrina is a hard name to pronounce. People just confuse me with other similar names : Kristen, Kristina, Kaitlin, etc.

Yes, all the time. It bothers me sometimes because I always have to correct people. They say ANN-DRI-A when its really AN-DRE-YA. And they spell it Andrea when its Andreia.

Ugh it's so annoying. My name is Gigi, but most people call me GEEGEE with like, a hard G, as in "goose", while it's supposed to be Gigi with a soft g, as in "gesture." It's actually more like saying the letter "G" twice. Most people get the spelling right though.

If pronounced correctly, Gigi means something along the lines of "penis" in Taiwanese and "nipples" in Cantonese.

Thanks, mom and dad! _smile.gif
