I've known so many Nguyens in my life (hundreds, literally) and nearly all pronounce it "nu-win", I rarely hear "nu-yen". :shrugs: I've only had one substitute who couldn't say it, and he was like "Nuh-goo-yen?" and the whole class laughed at him. It was mean, but we've never heard anyone not know before.

wrar, more often than I'd like. My name's Miranda; pretty basic. Or so you'd think.
As far as spelling goes, I've gotten:
Marinda
Maranda
Maryanda
and I get called Amanda so many times....
Pronunciation is pretty easy: muh-RAN-duh
But I still get called muh-RIN-duh.
And once, I had a substitute teacher that absolutely butchered my name. She called my name out during roll call, and called me *flinches*

mee-rah-NA-duh
and wrote it on the board as "Miranada".

My friend Justine (jus-TINE) has it pretty bad, too. She gets called Justin about 88% of the time. And her name's been spelled "Jusitne" before. Which, while fun to say (*giggles* joo-SIT-ne) is wrong.

Its not that people say or spell my name wrong. Judy isn't that hard to mess up im sure some people spell it judee, judi etc but most other people can spell judy. My problem is that I dont like being called judith because thats ugly and teachers always call out judith for attendance I have to be like "Judy"

& the other thing I hate is when people dont say my name wrong but they call me the wrong name like jody, julie ugh that bothers me, but I kind of already talked about this in another topic , the forgetting people's names, so i'll leave it there

Well whenever someone asks for my name for records or school or something, I always have to spell it out or else they'll spell it wrong.
Rachelle Jereza
People think it's ra-shel jee-ray-zah
it's ray-chul he-re-zah.

Aaak, I hate when people do that.
My name is Shirley.
People spell it: shirly, shrley, shirlly, & mucho more. Mostly on AIM.
Oh & once in first grade, some kid pronounced my name as Charlie. CHARLIE?!
Weird accent.
