Oh, but I'm not going out like Himmler. No homophobe is going to make me back down to my self-governed demise.

Killing's not my thing. I'd much rather torture the ignorant into developing an open mind. Like in 1984 (if you've read it).

I dont support it because of my beliefs. Im a christian, and the Bible tells me its an abomination.

Dont get me wrong. I dont hate gay people. I dont like the gay marriage idea.

Again, I have faith (in humanity) that the banning will not hold for long. If it does, the most likely source is the religiously zealous mass that strives for continuance of this persecution under the pretense of doing work for a Higher Power.

I talked to my former pastor about this and he's done a lot of biblical research and met with a lot of his colleagues (all of them have their PhD's in theology) and, interestingly enough, theres no place in the bible that states that homosexuality is wrong. Nor does it state that premarital sex is wrong.

Its all in how the "word" is preached. You can take a biblical quote and take it out of context until its twisted into what someone wants it to be. A lot of people, especially aetheists (not an attack, just a general observation), seem to have a basic idea of the bible. Even better, a lot of the ones I've met are rather knowledgeable on the new testament, but still, without actually studying up on their own, they're just as ignorant as the close-minded Christians they point their fingers at.

Where am I going with this? Ah, I'm glad you asked. Two wrongs don't make a right. A Christian that believes that someone who has samesex preference is going to suffer from eternal damnation is no better than an aetheist who mindlessly bashes the entire religion.

Being gay is ok. Two gay people lving each other is ok. Two gay people raising a child is, guess what phuckers, OK.

well; what i meant was that most christians are against it because of their religious beliefs, and if they condemn others who don't follow their exact beliefs, why not condemn all?..trying to make a point.

*tilts head* i don't believe i've ever mindlessly bashed ANYTHING, much less christianity, so i guess i don't have to worry about that.

I see your point and I was speaking from a generalized standpoint. It was, in now way, a shot to you. Just simply a general observation.

Yeah, okay... thing is that if there was someone who was attracted to the opposite sex yet they were Christian and abided by the commandments, they are probably better off than many other so-called Christians.

I agree with what you're saying, but I would really like to know where your former pastor found this information. You see, my Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination, but I believe it's worse for "Christians" to persecute them for it. It makes them no better than the homosexuals, that is IF homosexuality is wrong, which I'd like to think NOT.

The thing about morality here is somewhat constituted by the influences people have been subjected to. Religion is a huge factor in this. Religion somewhat directly influences the mindset of its believers, molding the standpoint of morality to a set state. For many Christians, it tells them that Homosexuality is wrong. This "morality-molding" is also the same for liberals -- for everyone. Instead of religion, it is the environment one has, the person's parents, etc. I believe "morality" is simply a conclusion of our influences.

Therefore:

It is your decision to decide whether it is right or not. Remember that.

Same sex couples are NO different from heterosexual couples. If you love someone you should be able to marry them. EVERYONE should have the right to marry, not just heterosexual couples.

I support it, all the way.
Gays are no different from two different sexes getting married, gay people are just two people in love just like everyone else that's married is.
I just don't get why people want to destroy love between two people and destroy their chance of being commited to eachother.
Uggh.

I think it should be legalized, damn I wish I had my paper I wrote on it, because it was really good, anyways yeah I think people should have that right because it doesn't matter whether its adam and eve or adam and steve if two people love each other and feel like they can live together happily why the hell shouldn't they get married, and I hate how the republican use the bible to brain wash people into thinking its wrong. In the constitution we are entitled to a life where we can live happily, and that directs towards all americans not just the straight ones...

i dont have anything against gay mariages and i dont get why you should. The two people chose to be together; its their choice not ours. There shouldnt be others judging someone and their mate. They are happy the way they are and no one has the right to change the way they choose to live
