Okay... All these people who are against gay marriages.. Let's just pretend that you were denied a right everyone else of a different group still maintained... Let's say... All people who have brown eyes may not eat in a public restaurant... And that included you... How would you feel about this? Or let's say all people with brown eyes are not allowed to buy a car.. or even get married.... !! [gasp]

If my group has been discriminated throughout the ages, I would try get society to understand my situation now because everyone is a lot more open minded today than a century ago. Then perhaps they would allow me to do what is considered "immoral" by their standards and it will become "normal" after a time. I know that they will change their mind, but it will take time.

1. How do you feel about it? Is it okay? Is it wrong? I think it is totally okay! there is nothing wrong about love: race/gender does not matter. real, true love does not recogize those things.

2. What if you knew someone for years... and then you find out that they were gay/lesbian... would that change the way you feel about them? Would you still respect them? nope, i might actually respect them more. do you know how hard it is to be homosexual in this country? i'd be happy for them and wish only the best.

3. Should it be legal for them to marry? hell yes. everyone in this country is supposed to have equal rights...well getting married should be one of em. the homosexuals have feelings too, thats why they want to get married people!


by the way, they are "parading" around to try and make a point!

im okay with it like totally. its a choice. perhaps those with a religion feel that its wrong but i say that if you're happy with it then go for it.

i'll be shocked but its a neutral reaction. i dont start hating them. i respect everyone, regardless gay or straight. and yes i respect gays/lesbians more cuz its hard to survive in a world where some people still condemn gays/les.

of course. equal rights. and if both parties involved are okay with the union, why shld they listen to someone else telling them no? cuz ultimately what matters is the both of 'em in the r/s and not others.

Partly why the topic of homosexuality is controversial is because its origins isn't clear. Someone else can just as confidently as you say that homosexuals are influenced by nature or the environment to be that way.

that can be true too.
the only thing i get pissed off about is when people say "it's their choice".
it is NOT their choice to be gay.
nobody WANTS to be gay.
it's not like a rebelling type of thing.
it's not some little "exprimentation" thing..
if you're gay, you're gay..it's not your CHOICE..
you may be influenced, you may just be born that way..
but it is by all means NOT the choice.

me (being striaght) decided to experience this. so when this guy asked me if i was gay, i didn't say no. i didn't say yes either, i let him guess.

for about two weeks he kept telling me that i was going to go to hell and that god said that gays were wrong and i was going to hell. a few times he started hitting me.

that was only two weeks... i don't have to deal with that kinda stuff all the time like gay people do. but man it sucks.

they are just as human as anyone else, and they can be great people. why shouldn't they have the same rights as anyone else?

how do you know for a fact that christians cant be gay?Uninspiredfae definately proved you wrong. If you read the bible there are probably loads for verses that state that God can forgive and accept everyone. God can even forgive people who kill ..... and tell me how God cant accept people for being gay. If he can forgive people for killing other people i doubt that he would have no problem accepting one person for being gay.

there is a story in the bible about mary magdaline [not shure if thats how you spell it] but she was a prostitute, still Jesus accepted her and protected her from being stoned to death, even though she was a prostitute.

(i don't know, i don't think gays are wrong, this is what they tell me)

this whole "being gay is a choice" thingy. im sure you've heard of people asking a gay/lesbian, is it nature or nurture.

nature meaning born w hormonal imbalanceor any other reason. (i'm not sure of the other possible reasons)

i was just pointing out that god doesn't forgive you unless you apologize for being gay. as a rebuttal to the argument that christians don't constitute a large part of homophobes.

really? Because your statement was really blunt. "You choose to stay or come out of the closet." This is different from choosing to be gay and choosing to be str8. When he comes out of the closet, he is publicly gay, and when he's in the closet, he's privately gay. Both ways, he's gay.

Seriously, on the conscious level, do you look at the opposite sex in general and think about them sexually; do you look at the same sex in general and NOT think about them sexually? On the conscious level?
You might say yes. ok.

Do you choose which person of the opposite sex you're attracted to?
Does your feelings tend to go for a specific person of the opposite sex, and you can't stop the feelings? Maybe that person is the meanest person you've ever met, but you still have feelings for that person?
Or do you consciously point the finger at a random person of the opposite sex, and think, "Yea, that's the person I'll have my feelings for." I've yet to have anyone I know tell me that they chose who they liked. I know people who just have this 'feeling' that makes spending time with another a great experience. (The feeling of 'LOVE', as an example) This 'feeling' - is it your conscious choice to have it towards a person?

So it comes down to:

Did you choose to LOVE that person of the opposite sex?
Did you choose to LOVE that person of the same sex?

IMO, people in general don't consciously choose who they like/love. That girl may be the whoriest grl in the school, and you might hate whory girls. But you really really like her. (a hypothetically possible situation)

Therefore, gays don't choose to be gays. They don't choose to like the same sex, just as heterosexuals don't choose to like the opposite sex.

People dont like gay marriages because they can endanger the next generation of people. what if 50 percent of the nation were gay couple and married ...... that means they wouldnt be able to produce babies..... so that means the next generation of kids can be half of what we have now.....

but they are also people like us so they also have rights....
