It is like simply all of the above. But I have to say that Banana Republic is a lot more on the middle-aged people and A&F is like uberly expensive, especially Hollister.

But I really don't have a favorite. I like all of them.

My mother wears Banana Republic, I agree its more middle-aged. But their skirts and dresses and suits are really classy if you have important things to dress up for.
I don't shop at Hollister or A&F. Too expensive/repetitive
I like American Eagle jeans, and I get all of my basics and jeans, at the Gap.
Gap takes the cake for me.

Well, I do admit that Banana Republic is geared towards the more "older" age group, as in mid-20s and older, their clothing can be considered "preppy" in some aspects. Their khakis and some of their skirts and sweaters look like preppy clothing.

"grown adult folks clothing line" -- that's not necessarily true. I've seen people who were in their teens wear it. My boyfriend and some other people I know wear clothes from there.
Their clothes may be casual, but the fact that they are CASUAL makes them preppy in some ways.

Whereas some people see other labels, such as A&F, as preppy when they are not. A&F is a trendy store. So is hollister, AE, and all those other blah and trendy stores.

What the hell.

Why isn't Ralph Lauren or LaCoste on here? None of these are real "prep" brands. -_-"

preps are all the same w/e they wear, just a competition to see who can be the coolest. does it really matter what the words on their shirts say if their hearts are all black anyway?

Yea well I do like American Eagle, but not really any of those other stores. Except for Banana Republic, although since when has it been considered a "preppy" store? I always the dress was somewhat formal or whatnot. huh.gif Who knows?

Lacoste is the preppiest store I have ever been in next to RL.
A&F is the preppiest store out of all of them.

I LOVE HOLLISTER AND ABERCROMBIE. There is no hollister or abercrombie close to me. i drive about 2 hours to get to them but that's ok because i have to have it. lol i shop at aeropostale and american eagle most of the time because we actually have them. lol i really don't like BR that much.

I wear more Hollister and A&F simply because they fit within my "budget".

But whenever I get the chance to splurge, I almost always go for Lacoste and J Crew. Oh, and I absolutely LOVE their oxford shirts.

The other day I totally bought about 3 of those ^^ shirts. I swear. They go with everything. Even perfect cover up for a bathing suit happy.gif

i like banana republic, but i shopped there for work clothes so maybe thats different. i think there stuff is good quality though even if it's expensive. unlike abercrombie, who has really flimsy bad fitting clothes (in my opinion on the guys clothes) that they charge a TON for.

i don't know.
actually no, i hate all of them because they don't make enough stuff for 6'4 dudes
