Had them for five years. Pure torture. My mom had braces when she was my age and, apparantly, they didnt hurt at all. What a ton of horse feces.

I do not have them. I will be getting them soon, either nearing the end of junior high, or the beginning of high school.
Lol, I've said this before, but I think they're cute. My b/f has them, and I don't want him to ever have them off, hehe. He looks so cute in them. Lol, he chews gum and stuff he isn't supposed to, and he just got them tightened, and his orthodontist was spazzing at him, and he lied and said he ate captain crunch, and it crunchatized him...heh..heh.. |

yeah, i'm a braceface.
 and yeah. it sucks.  but i'm hoping it will all be worth it in the end. i've had mine for..3 years! holy crap. i got mine tightened last week and they STILL hurt!..i got those chain things..don't exactly know what they're called. ouch. i probably have to have mine on a year more too!.. which sucks. just because. it really depends on the orthodontist. some, will make you have braces for a long time, but you won't wear a retainer that long, and some will give you braces for 2 years, but you'll have a retainer the rest of your life [heh, like my friend] and it depends on how bad your teeth are, of course!  i have a crossbite. not exactly sure what it is. but it's bad. yeeep. great stuff.

 i never knew so many ppl had braces... I got mine around 6 months ago, and i was one of the last ppl in my year to get them [i'm 14 yrz old, and in year 9]. They rlirliii hurt wen u juz get them tightened. I got 4 teeth pulled out before i got braces, so i wud haf enuff room. I dunno why people in this forum all said they needa haf it for 4-6 years... i onli need mine for around 2 years, and most of my friends onli need them for bout 10 months!! i could've got my braces 4 yearz earlier as a few friends did, but my dentist said u can onli get them after ur 13 -_______-" At 11 yearz old, alot of my classmates alreadi had them and i woz thinkin why am i so behind i missed my chance 1 year ago as well, as i first wanted to get them, but after hearing the pain u get and the thought of gettin 4 teeth taken out, i didn't wanna get them anymore. In the end.. my mum made me get them this year as she said i'll blame her later for not letting me get them -_-" now SHE regretz it and it'z me hu has to endure the pain!  oh well... i guess when they come off, i'll have much nicer and straighter teeth! but all my friendz are havin them taken off alreadi and i juz started, with nearly 2 more yearz to go!!!!  btw, i really hate my orthodentists.. be4 u get braces, make sure u like the orthodentists.. becuz u'll have to stick with them for YEAR!
