i believe she has talent. not everyone can sit and write a hit song that will debut on the billboard charts.
you have to recall the time she came out. music enthusiasts were being subjected to pop from all around. backstreet, nsync, britney, christina. her look, her sound was different in a time when everything sounded and looked homogenous. she was anti-skin, anti-slut, basically everything opposite of her musical counterparts. her music offered an alternative for kids that wanted the softer sound but, with edge. it was literally a breath of fresh air on top40 stations. having said that, i think her look was made to appeal to the kids that are now into mainstream pop punk. im certain smart image consultants and record execs came up with the idea of overhauling her. they always seem to do whatever they can for their latest cashcow. in the end the bounty of their labor made her a punk poser, a scenster. and i can just about bet my internal organs that she has no idea what real punk even sounds like. she's a TOOL. |

i do lyk her music but not her, i heard/read sumware that she compares herself ta kurt cobain but wen ppl asked her bout nirvana, she sed she didnt really noe or listen ta them
i jus really hate her as a person, isnt she lyk a tomboy or sumthin? n yet she wears all that make up n in her new video shes wearin those lil boy shorts a tank, i thought she didnt wana show n e skin

haha my friend and i got tickets for an avril lavigne concert, and dressed up like her just forfun. we didnt like her music but we made ourselves look ridiculous. haha with the tie and everything, we were more like making fun of the people there oh damn, goodtimes

she's as artifical as spam. the record company MADE her.
there was this movement in art in the early 1900s called art neveau (sp?) when the industrial revolution treatened the uniqueness of art so artists had to go a step further so that art couldn't be mass produced. we need an art neveau in music today. the sex pistols are to avril as the mona lisa is to a post card. understand? |

i hate her..she doesnt write her own lyrics and has no idea what punk is. she can only play about two chords on guitar and she basically labels herself. for example her pin saying, "kiss me, i'm punk". (which she isnt

She brags about her skateboard skills and then says her best trick is an Ollie, for those of you who don't know, an ollie is the easiest skateboard trick ever. She calls herself a "skater punk". She can't play the guitar, she uses it as a prop. She compares herself to Kurt Cobain and claims she is the new Sid Vicious and yet doesn't know who the Sex Pistols are. Sid Vicious was the bassist of the Sex Pistols.

Avril, she's okey for me. Her songs and her face, but yeah it's true she's a poser. Compared to Michelle Branch, she's down. She rarely compose songs unlike Michelle.
