What do y'all think are the album[s] of the year? you dont hafta pick out of my list btw

albums (listed not bold are runner ups)

Kanye West - College Dropout
Talib Kweli - The Beautiful Struggle
De La Soul - The Grind Date
Cormega - Legal Hustle
Mos Def - The New Danger
Lil' Wayne - Tha Carter (that ish was hot)
Mobb Deep - Amerikaz Nightmare
Jedi Mind Tricks - Legacy of Blood

I still ain't feelin' Mos Def's shit... I love Mos Def but I Mos Def wasn't feelin' the album... he obviously didn't take his time on his rhymes and he spent too much of the album on that rock shit... jus' wasn't my forte....

Kweli's was the best to this point, EASILY, IMO
Kanye's was GREAT
I hear great shit 'bout De La Soul's shit but haven't given a g'listen yet...

John Legend's album, Get Lifted is AMAZING... EVERYONE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THAT... CERTIFIED CLASSIC... ONE OF THE BEST R&B ALBUMS EVER IMO... AMAZING AMAZING ALBUM....

that and Kweli get my nodd.... The Roots album was sick but I wasn't all up on the break beats they used... 80% of the album was break beats type shit 'n I just can't feel it...

Alicia's album was REAL GOOD...

I really liked that album but I was a little disappointed that it was all covers. I hope that her latest album is good, I still have yet to go pick it up.

Mos Def - The New Danger
NERD - Fly or Die
Jill Scott - Beautifully Human
Spymob - Sitting Around Keeping Score

And I've heard a single from John Legend, and if the rest of his songs are like that, I need to get the CD.

I was gonna say the same.
Death Cab for Cutie's album is awesome too. throb.gif

Simple Plan's new album is a huge change from thier last. It sounds like they've evolved from pop-punk to a tad bit heavier genre. It's probably my favorite album right now.

As for Rap&&hip hop genre of music, I'd say Kanye's, 'College Dropout' is a great album.

Eh...I don't think No Doubt's cd counts as CD of the year because, well, it was released in 2003 for one (pinch.gif), and it's just a compilation of songs from their other cds...ermm.gif

I think Anthony Hamilton's CD came out in 2003... and I wasn't feeling Dilated People's CD too much... their previous ones were way better... but solid effort

and if yall are feeling John Legends "Get Lifted"... listen the Live at the Knitting Factory... one of my favorites
