Ehh.... my mom was reading the Korean newspaper that the people who studies earthquake and tsunami said that they predict that there will be another earthquake and tsunami in washington state. My mom didn't tell me when..... cause it didn't say it. So I was wondering if you guys heard about that too. Why my place? Why does it have to be my place? And I heard that it will be worse than the tsunami from southeast asia mellow.gif _dry.gif The people who studies earthquake and tsunami was also the people who predicted the tsunami's in southeast asia... I don't know who to trust right now. I wish this was just some prank. Or not this year. I hope it's like in a million years later.

I heard that from a tv program. It said that an island somewhere in Africa may break down some time in the future and cause tsunamis in the coastal area of America.

Not just for Washington state, the threat is in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and according to this ABC News article, the US government is planing to install a tsunami warning system.

And that's what I get for living near the ocean!
But, I live near the atlantic ocean in NJ. I'm fearful of tsunamis. cry.gif

look on th3e bright side, at least the asian tsunami has taugt people to pay attention to the warnings. at least6 your forewarned, and you'll be able to evacuate if an earthquake happens out at sea, before the tsunami hits

well that whole tsunami thing in the US was really based on a prediction by a meteorologist... like niez_cho said.. it was said that there will be some seismic activity in the Atlantic Ocean, causing large amounts of land falling in the water... this will in turn cause tsunami to the States...

most scientists don't believe in this prediction because of the event of such huge seismic activity is unlikely... so you have nothing to worry about... and US already has tsunami warning system in place.

In Science we watched a discovery channel movie, scientist predicted that there would be a megatsunami on the east coast.. reaching all the way to NY. ;/ and they said it'd probably happen in our lifetime. x_X

i haven't heard of the washington one though.

I think it's some bullcrap that people hated us so they want to said something bad will happen to U.S. I dont belive it unless our U.S scientist let us know about his discovery.

The tsunami generated by the huge landslide yadayadayada probably isn't going to happen long after you're dead. So.. you shouldn't worry about it. At all.
Worry about something else.. like not worrying too much or something.
