God I hate Usher. He's so overrated and overplayed. Rock for me. Especially out of those three music choices. In my opinion, rap isn't music at all.

Around where I live, hip hop/rap is the most famous, but I don't really listen to any of that while I am outside because I try to encourage, people to listen to other types of music...

Among the people, rap seems to be the most popular.

However, I'm more of a metal, rock, (some) punk, and ska type of person.

What type of poll question is this?!

If you want a clear cut answer .... I would have to say Rap .... it isn't a matter of opinion. It's a fact.

Now if the question was "Which style of music do you most prefer?", then it would make sense.

Sadly, rap/hip hop.
So far, that's what I see.

I'm not much of a fan of it, though.
Rock is my thing.
I wish it were a bit more popular again.

Well where I'm from Rap and R&B are the dominant genres. Its all you here in everyone's cars. I thought it would eventually fade, but It appears that rap, just like rock once did ,is evolving into many sub categories. Either way it goes if you want to say which is popular you would have to go with R&B since both Rap and Rock built its concepts from it.

Opinions aside, if Rap weren't music then it wouldn't be on the billboards. biggrin.gif

R&B has lost its essence. Rock/Punk isn't mainstream to a crossover level. So rap, or what the radio portrays rap to be, is whats most popular amongst the kiddos.

Well in America...all youth (well almost all) listen 2 rap...but If u calculate all the people around the world, a mojority listen 2 rock, whether it be punk, classic, metal, alternative, psychadelic, etc...but I listen 2 it & love it all  ! A lot of ur fav. rappers listen & get music concepts from rock!

Uh, no they don't.

Rap is definetly more popular. I didn't say it was good though. Personally, i don't even consider it music, but thats just my opinion. Rock is the only thing for me.

Wow Ariel, thats the first time I ever heard you say something bad about anything. Although that is a pretty bad comment. Lets see, It's got notes, and uses sound, and the sound is all woven together so it fits. Ha guess what? It's music.

^yeah
rap is more popular despite the fact that rock is much better

Where did you get the idea that rap is more popular and that rock is better?
