How many of yah like to play poker? Texas Hold'Em is my speciality cool.gif I know alot of girls don't play, but you girls really should learn! it's alot of fun. You can learn the best if you play online cool.gif but yah, it's a great game, and u all should atleast know the basics. I'll post some stuff down here if you wanna learn: if not, then just comment if you like to play or not cool.gif 1000th post baby!
all that stuff down there, is the basics you prolly need to know, enjoy!

POKER CHEAT SHEET
Rank of Poker hands (best to worst):

Royal Flush: Ace, king, queen, jack, ten all in the same suit. If anyone gets this hand, take your money and go home, because you're playing with a cheater. It's the hole-in-one of poker.

Straight Flush: Five cards, same suit, in sequence. There's also probably cheating involved, but much less blatant.

Four of a Kind: Same rank.

Full House: Three cards or same rank; two cards of same rank.

Flush: Five cards, same suit.

Straight: Five cards, mixed suits, in sequence.

Three of a Kind (or Triplets): Three equal-rank cards.

Two Pair: Two sets of two cards of equal rank.

Pair: Two cards of equal rank.

High Card: Just what it sounds like. If no one has a decent hand - say, a flush or a pair - then highest card wins. If two players have an ace - a tie - go to the next highest card.
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Texas Hold'em: Each deal has 4 betting rounds. First each player is dealt two cards face down. On the next round three community cards, that all players can see and use, are placed to the table.
On each of the following two betting rounds a new community card is added to the table. Each player can use his/her pocket cards together with the community cards to form the best possible poker hand.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
BETTING: In most games, you must 'ante' something (amount varies by game) just to play. The cards are dealt, then players bet into the pot in the middle. At the end of the hand, the highest hand (that hasn't folded) wins the pot. Basically, when betting gets around to you (betting is typically done in clockwise order), you have one of three choices:

Call:
When you call, you bet enough to match what has been bet since the last time you bet (for instance, if you bet a dime last time, and someone else bet a quarter, you would owe fifteen cents).

Raise:
When you raise, you first bet enough to match what has been bet since the last time you bet (as in calling), then you 'raise' the bet another amount (up to you, but there is typically a limit.) Continuing the above example, if you had bet a dime, the other person raised you fifteen cents (up to a quarter), you might raise a quarter (up to fifty cents). Since you owed the pot 15 cents for calling and 25 for your raise, you would put 40 cents into the pot.

Fold:
When you fold, you drop out of the current hand (and lose any chance of winning), but you don't have to put any money into the pot.

Betting continues until everyone calls or folds after a raise or initial bet.

ODDS, I WANT ODDS

Five Cards:
Royal Flush - 1in 650,000
Straight Flush - 1 in 72,200
Four of a Kind - 1in 4,200
Full House - 1 in 700
Flush - 1 in 510
Straight - 1 in 250
Three of a Kind - 1 in 48
Two Pair - 1 in 21
One Pair - 1 in 2.4
No Pair - 1 in 2

i'm a tad offended by this...your examples and explanation are put there as if us girls are idiots...i didn't bother reading it, i'm good at hold 'em, gin, big 2/chinese poker, etc and my boyfriend can kick all of your asses in hold 'em, omaha, high low, basically every card game...he makes a lot off of it

hold 'em is going to die out soon, it was popular last year and will thin out this year

My sister tried to teach me how. And I never got it. I love Blackjack though. But when I play with my sisters and cousins, I'm usually the dealer because no one else knows how to do that part.

I have to agree with you. I'm a HUGE fan of playing texas hold em. I actually play friendly tournaments almost every weekend (buy ins are usually $20). I also play online (pokerfunclub.com), but I don't play for money. I'm glad to hear more females interested in the game.
