Could be a problem with the registry, could be something altered in your computer's BIOS. Most likely you installed an infected file that set off the chain reaction of bad events on your computer. I suggest just running the recovery disks through the start-up if you cant get the computer to fully start up.

Re-install windows XP or whatever you have. Or, if your computer came with a recovery disk, put that in.

Rebooting is restarting...so no rebooting wouldn't help.

But like ryanoman said, just reinstall your windows or if you have files that need saving, take out the harddrive and stick it in another comp and backup your files. Though it would be better if you got the actual error message because no one is going to know your problem unless they know what the error message is. If you actually want something fixed, you gotta give people the right info.

Oh yea, and it's called a laptop. NOT a labtop, it's to put on your lap and not in a lab. Notebook computer works as well.

Really, drives me crazy. I used to call it a labtop when I was 7.

Anyway, please post the error you get. That would really help me out. Because I could find a solution. By the way, did you put a recovery or Operating System disk in.

ok this happened to me. It's going to keep showing up until you do somwthing. It gives you 20 seconds to answer at the bottom. there's a bunch of chhoices. chools "start windows normally" nad then it will start normally. your computer did this becuase there was a disturbance. Maybe you power went out when you were doing recovery or something like that.

you know what you do, you go to Google and search the exact error message you get in quotes.

and if that doesn't work, tell us the exact message that comes up.

You might have to reformat your computer again. That happened to my computer, but it was Windows 98 & this is a differ comp. It was cause I kept shutting the computer improperly. Like just pressing the on and off button without pressing turn off, when supposed to.
