^stfu, yo
no polls in debate, yo.

ehem...

i dont not believe capital punishment is right. "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" you cant kill someone for killing people, that just makes more killing. sure, they use the anonymously-press-the-button-so-we-dont-know-who-set-it-off thing, but someone is still killing. and other people are willing to kill. so in reality, all of those people are about as eligible to be killed as convicted, so then we can kill them, and they can be killed by someone else, etc etc. yes, thats not practical or realistic, but theoretically. its hypocritical for the government to condomn others for killing when they order death

The death penalty is okay in principle, but it's applied unfairly. I support a moratorium for now, but not an outright ban.

if you really wanted to punish the people, the life sentence would be better than the death sentence.
it's just so the government doesn't have to pay to keep people in jail.

Gun: $200
Bullet: $0.20

It's not that expensive. And the gun can be reused.

LOL. True but they can't do it that way... It has to be 'human'. They sterilize the needle, then give them pain killers, then give them the stuff that kills them.

guns- $ 2000 per rifle (use rifles, not pistols), 14 rifles = $28000

bullets- 13 rounds ($2.00 each) and one blank (1.50)

one blindfold= .50

one cigarrette- .25

you're right.. it's cheap... $28.25

First, here is the older topic that was made and argued.

Second, the saying "eye for an eye, makes the world go blind" has been brought up and countered by me with the following:

"There can be exceptions.

Lets say person A rapes then murder a little girl, and I want him to die through the death penalty, but I believe so much in peace and not 'an eye for an eye' and let him be jailed. Now, years later, he's paroled and when he gets out he finds some other little girl to rape and kill....

it wouldn't be an eye for an eye any more.. it'll be an eye for two eyes... In this situation then, 'an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind' cannot be applied, because two innocents have been killed."

an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind, but we'd deserve it.

we're human. we deserve it.

capitol punishment... so many reasons, so many faults.

if you kill 1000 people before your 18th birthday and make it to mexico, they won't turn you over to the US because they don't support the death penalty for minors. _dry.gif

i'd rather die than spend the rest of my life in jail...i mean...what's the point of a life sentence??? ur supposedly in a "correctional facility"...so if in their opinion its going to take the rest of ur life to "correct" u...than doesn't that defeat the purpose of "correction"!?
nevermind that it wastes tax dollars, too. _dry.gif

i think its fair, because how would you feel if someone you loved got killed, and the person who killed your love one just got put in jail, where they feed the killer, give him shelter, and a place to sleep, when your loved one is gone forever? and what if that person gets put on parole and finds another person to kill?? you wouldnt want another family to go thru what your going thru, would you?

Jail isn't too bad.

Think about it -- You get free food, clothing, shelter. Not to mention healthcare. AND you'll never be attacked by terrorists.

I think most politicians' hidden motives is to turn the country into one big jail.

financially, the death penalty is a bad idea.
Morally, I don't think it's a good idea either.
Religiously, what happened to "Thou shalt not kill"? (That commandment has about as much influence as the separation of church and state)

eh, I don't agree with capital punishment, because I don't think the government has the right to take a life away, and what better would it do to take another life of a person who has already taken lives away? It doesn't make sense to me, but I guess if a person that was really close to me was taken away, I would maybe feel differently about the death penalty.
