What do you consider a poser is?

I`d say that would be considered as a type posing to a vast majority of people`s opinions.
Why? Because GC [if its Good Charlotte you`re talking about] is far from "Goth."
It`s Pop Punk.
If you`re saying your all depressed and need "head banging" music, try some Lamb of God, or Iron Maiden.

well i have two different definitions.
1) pretending to be someone/thing you're not ex. goth, punk when really you're just a prep TRYING to be a goth, punk, etc.
2) posing for the camera a lot; seeking attention sometimes

people that try to be somethng they're not, or be someone they're not

agreed, it can also mean (in small cases) a snowboarder




oh yeah!!(sorry for posting twice), ashlee simspon is a good example of a poseur (that is the correct way of spelling it) for punk

I think he meant by the way she dresses? Meh, either way, I don't like labels, but I'm also not too fond of pretending to be something you're not. That even goes towards people who try way too hard to fit into the popular crowd...I think it goes for anyone.

I hate using the word Poser. (Not because I'm one) I just think it's wrong for people to judge people. Although it does piss me off when people walking around calling themself 'punk' or whatever. When you've been in the music biz for 20 years or so, have a grammy or w.e, and are respected then call yourself whatever the hell you want. Besides, I saw this shirt i thought was hillarious it said 'Punk is not dead..You can buy it at Walmart for $14.99'. All and all, I do not believe in posers. I do get called it because I supppasably have the facial structure of avril lavinge (or how ever you spell it)I let people call me as they wish, talk bad about me, I don't give a damn, but they cannot, no they cannot, say I am not true to myself. I do/dress how I want, without giving a flying monkeys butt.

(Lamb of GOd,Iron Maiden, great bands.

Anyway here we have another good point. and I hate when GC fans call GC gothic rock or old school punk. Their far from either.

oh wow you guyz just described my friend AJ. He went from regular, wannabe prep, Skater, metal head, biker, punker, wanne be pretty boy, I think now he wants to be a breaker even though he can't do any break moves.

a kid who doesnt skateboard or bike who wheres that cloths or a surfer who tells everyone he can.And i dont think he has to be a kid,my dad is a poser on bieng a dad beucase he is never there.

i think that poser is someone/somebody that tries to be someone/something that are not. And i do find it annoying!

i agree. if you have to call someone else a poseur just to feel like you belong to something "elite", then YOU yourself are the actual poseur.

Hmm.. there are a lot of people that consider themselves punk.
But they only DRESS how they they THINK "punks" would dress.. but they don't act how a "typical" punk would act..
